Razer Announces the Wolverine Ultimate Gamepad for PC and Xbox One

Razer, the leading global lifestyle brand for gamers, today announced the officially licensed Razer Wolverine Ultimate gaming controller for Xbox One and PC. The Razer Wolverine Ultimate was designed to adapt itself to any gamer. Two interchangeable D-Pads, a range of interchangeable thumbsticks with different heights and shape and a total of 6 remappable triggers and buttons - both via Razer Synapse for Xbox and on-the-fly - provide maximum customizability.

An integrated RGB lighting strip that can be controlled via Razer Synapse for Xbox adds more ways to personalize the controller and introduces Razer Chroma to Xbox gamers everywhere. Gamers can choose from 16.8 million colors and a variety of effects that include Static, Spectrum Cycling, Breathing, Wave and more. Additionally, the Razer Wolverine Ultimate will be the first console product to support the Razer Chroma SDK, allowing developers to integrate advanced lighting capabilities for Xbox One games, and console controllers for next level gaming immersion.
Everything about the Razer Wolverine Ultimate has been developed with highest levels of competition and performance in mind. Ultra-responsive tactile switch action buttons and an automatic hair-trigger mode with trigger stops round off the optimized ergonomics of this premium controller.

Not a big fan of micro USB connector. Even a proprietary connector would have been fine.

For that amount of money why would anyone go for this over the Elite controller?

Considering the Xbox One Elite controller exists, and Sony has an equivalent soon as well, I fail to see the need/desire for this

For that kind of money, it should be able to play chess. By itself.

Hey dudes.
I own a Razer Naga Epic Chroma.
Last week (after ~one year of ownership) the mouse just wouldn't charge the battery (when ran with the cable attached). It charges only when i put it in the dock.
It does not work with the cable attached to it. So i decided to open it up.
I found that the resistor on the board where the cable connector is (L4 in the picture) blew up.

Now i definitely know Razer uses premium quality parts hence the expensive gear.

the elite controller has it's own problems (Drift Stick among others). this is just an alternative for a small group of people like me who destroy them in games like Rocket League :D

PS, i'm pretty sure the elite controller isn't fully mechanical.
