Stephen Hawking Has Died

Stephen Hawking, one of the brightest scientific minds of our time, has died. He was 76. The British theoretical physicist had overcome a debilitating disease to write some of the most popular books on the many mysteries of the universe, and had been regarded as the Einstein of this century. The greatest of Hawking's works include the unification of Einstein's theory of relativity with quantum mechanics. Hawking also discovered that black-holes can't be black, and emit radiation, which would come to be known as Hawking radiation

qubitRIP Stephen. :(:( One of the greatest scientists who ever lived.

At least his terrible ALS didn't stop him from living a long life.

Big respect to Stephen for all that he's given the world. :rockout:
I think that is a great thing of you to say, the way he handled his ALS, I can't imagine the role model he played for so many people who struggle with that condition, whether they liked science or not, he probably sparked hope in them and gave them motivation to live. Very amazing honestly, science aside :)

Rest In Peace, Professor Hawking. I always had a dream that I would meet him one day and be able to ask questions about the universe. I wish I actually went ahead and pursued that dream :(

ShurikNCouldn't you phrased the title with "passed away" instead of died...
Well, he was a scientist, so, going straight to the point is in a way is a tribute to him.

xkm1948I hope his brain is cryo preserved.
We can't do that - Freezing won't preserve anything in the long run - Personality, memories, knowledge, everything disappear.

R-T-BThen frankly, they can stay out of this thread.

RIP.
i usually dont find issue with anything you post and find you quite intelligent actually but this is a stupid thing to say. You have no right to force your beliefs or knock ppl who dont hold the same values as you, its very childish. I dont believe in God but that doesnt make me a lesser person (unless you are of the Murika mentality and then i have nothing further to say as it would be a lost cause).

Somehow I'm more annoyed that you insult Americans than anything to do with theology. :P

Sorry if it offends, religion and science should be separate and trump would have us believe along with most American politicians that God has a place in politics and science is fake news....

Opinions, sure. But stop insulting U.S. for no reason just because you don’t like Trump, who isn’t even Canada’s President as far as I know. What reason was there to pull down the conversation with both of those? All you had to do was disagree with RTB.

He may have been a brilliant man, but he didn't use that brilliance to shed true knowledge and instead propagated lies or illusions of knowledge as he once stated. Good riddance.

I thought it was funny (and tried to be funny in return). Don't worry. I'm not actually offended. I will go TL;DR though for a sec, and be serious. Feel free to ignore.

edit: Gonna remove the TL;DR bit. Waste of time. lol. G'day :)

I loved that episode. Although it made Newton a doofus if I recall. Maybe I'm remembering wrong though.

If it did, that's sooo wrong.
