Warhammer Vermintide 2 - Winds of Magic Out Now

Independent developer Fatshark today released Winds of Magic, the new expansion to their multimillion selling and award winning hit game Warhammer: Vermintide 2.

"Warning heroes - the Beastmen have arrived, and they bring malice with them. Pick up the new weapons, and help me put a stop to this invasion of ruthless enemies." says Bardin Goreksson, self-proclaimed leader of the Ubersreik Five group of heroes.
The first expansion for Warhammer: Vermintide 2 brings a brand new enemy faction and new challenges to the game. As a meteor crashes down in the Reikland, the Beastmen rush to the epicenter to claim it as a Herdstone. It is up to the five heroes to stop them before a dreadful disaster strikes the Empire.

"Release day is the most exciting day in game development, and here we are today. Warhammer: Vermintide 2 - Winds of Magic is available now, ready for heroes to excel." says Martin Wahlund, CEO Fatshark. "Winds of Magic would not have been possible without the feedback from our beta tests, and we want to thank all beta players who helped us deliver the best version of Winds of Magic."
Winds of Magic features:
  • Beastmen - The New Enemy
  • Dark Omens - New Level
  • Winds - New Game Mode
  • Raised Level Cap
  • New Talents
  • New weapons for all heroes
  • New Difficulty
  • Leaderboards

Vermintide 2 and Total War Warhammer games are the best thing you can get now among games that let's you experience Warhammer fantasy.

I hope they added some depth to the game. Its a rather shallow affair; progression is limited, itemization is meh, and the game really needs that to stay interesting.

I am actually confident that with the success of TWWH CA is already thinking about that. TW3K seems meh compared to Warhammer and I am sure I am not the only one that feels that way.

Yup, the historical ones are kind of boring now, because of limited game mechanics and the lack of magic and air units. Now, naval units during battles in Warhammer 3, now that would be a nice addition.

Naval battles are the last thing they need to make TWWH the best TW game ever.

I want to do Warhammer 40k tho sadly, the fantasy Warhammer has never really interested me... wish they would do a 40k warhammer game in Total War style... then we talking business :D

See I feel different, I enjoy the historical ones more but the problem I have with them is diplomacy has always been shit (fixed in 3K to an extent but its still easy to cheese) the other issue I have had is fine grain unit control. The battles are nice but a more tactical approach would be even nicer, example deploy units, prepare a battle plan and the units carry them out. A more general gives orders rather than micro manage bs. But mostly I want to see an AI that makes plans that last more than 1 turn so they actually fight and take territory properly. Example start war, wants to acquire border regions, actively attacks / tries to take them, to avoid war exhaustion if they are beaten back or of they take the territory it examines its position and chooses to push onwards or consolidate its holdings and potentially sue for peace.

Right now the games gotten far too rock paper scissors for me no matter what version.

The biggest problem with Vermintide (both 1 and 2) is that they're short. Only a handful of missions and after You finish them, either You uninstall the game, or grind it for better weapons only to use them on the same missions You've already done.

This game is in serious need for a workshop, however then the devs wouldn't be able to sell overpriced dlcs.

It was just a general comment about what total war needs

AI only basically examines what it should do for 1 turn it doesn't have long term goals that it regularly acts on. So my example above is how the AI should act.

Unlike other games Three Kingdoms total war at least fixed the diplomacy to an extent but its still cheesy. Yes i know off topic but it stems from the discussion on Total war Warhammer etc.

If you want an old abandonware-esque title for grand strat, look up Star Wars: Rebellion.
