Ubisoft to Release 5 AAA Game Experiences from October 2020 Through March 2021

Ubisoft has some of the most lucrative gaming franchises in the world right now, and the company is apparently planning to cache out on most of the through the end of 2020 and beginning of 2021. According to Twitter user Shinobi602, Ubisoft will be launching three AAA games - Watch Dogs Legion, Gods and Monsters and Rainbow Six Quarantine - between October and December 2020. Kotaku's own Jason Schreier then pilled on, adding that the two remaining games for the beginning of 2021 would be an Assassin's Creed and a new Far Cry game.

This means that Ubisoft's other franchises, such as Splinter Cell and the much-awaited-yet-somehow-forgotten Beyond Good & Evil 2, will not be releasing any time soon - at least not before March 2021. It remains to be seen, but it's likely all of these three games will see multi-generational releases between current and next-gen consoles.

Vayra86Well, you say this, but 5 offered nothing in return. The world has no real progression path. Some call it total freedom, but unlocking that world also had a mechanic to it. The later areas were really a lot harder, so it felt like progressing in the game. In 5, you can just run to endgame areas and shoot up some shit, and get the exact same loot for it as you did in the prologue.

This is also reflected in the weaponry. There is no real progression there, might as well run around with any standard gun.

What did it offer? I guess the cool thing was those prepper stashes... but then you'd barely find anything really required in there. I don't know. Remove the enemies from Far Cry 5's world and it's a world full of nothing. Remove the enemies in 3 and you've got a cool jungle simulator with lots of beautiful areas and little secrets, many not quite so obvious.
It’s just funny you gloss over the identical repeated mechanics of 3-4 that are in 5 minus the towers...as far as weapons there was plenty of variety I guess you just wanna gloss over that too...You definitely had to progress to get to the “end game“ enemies, not sure what game you were playing...

We can only hope they do a non-VR version. Last time I checked, it was VR only unfortunately...

That and Doom Eternal.
They probably won’t. The whole point is to bring AAA games to a new display implementation. I have faith in Valve

Dunno, 5 just didnt connect for me and it made me perhaps not explore the options enough. In FC3 I was immersed and in FC5 I was having a hard time to take the whole thing seriously.

Maybe it needs another try..

I had a hard time with 4 though it was a good game.
Just not that enjoyable for someone who played FC3 and had tremendous expectations.
Bland characters mostly.

I had less trouble with 4 than I did with 5. The map in 4 is just pretty cool to traverse so that keeps it interesting, although after you cross into the last area past the big bridge that dies off fast.?The story and characters however were godawful. No connection whatsoever even though its inpart the same formula.

rtwjunkieThey meet the definition: An AAA game (usually pronounced "triple A game") is an informal classification used for video games with the highest development budgets and levels of promotion.
Ubisoft can advertise and fund the next derivative versions of their recycled trash as much as they want, it will never be AAA in terms of anything except BS. My feces are more "AAA fertiliser" than these titles will be AAA games.

I'm aware Gods and Monsters is ostensibly a new franchise, but knowing Ubisoft it will be a bland ripoff of God of War without any of the bits that made that series good.

Surprisngly,no one is talking about watch dogs 2.
it was their best game since fc3/ac black flag.
simply fantastic.

just because it says "God" and "Ubisoft" it doesn't mean it's a "ripoff" of "god of war"

Gods and Monsters sounds interesting but there's hardly anything said about it anywhere.

I’ll put my money where your mouth is and buy you Odyssey if you’ll be openminded enough to play it. It’s a genuine AAA game that has been wildly successful, and is far from recycled. Hell the entire AC formula got reworked with Origin and perfected in Odyssey.

True enough, but I’m willing to pay money to stop people from slamming games that they have no first hand concept of, and decide after they play if it is still not a well done and successful game. A fair shot is all that is asked, not people repeating popular talking points of online critics.

I really liked FC1, 2, and 4.

I've played FC4 three times now, taking each path that's possible; I like the path where I kill everyone important and take over, basically, the best.
:)

I'm waiting for FC5 to hit $5 before I buy it; I've watched a friend play, and it looks boring.

I'm hoping to see a Crysis4 this year; that would be sweet.

I'm currently replaying Crysis Warhead at max difficulty, and it's a beast. :)

I never actually played FC3. It didn't hold my interest. But FC3BD was just a blast, and it was funny with all the campy 80's flare & humor.

Ya Ubisoft has really lost their way. The last couple AC games were not all that great - essentially poor man versions of Witcher 3 which AC Origins tried to copy and then Odyssey just copied Origins.

Far Cry 5 was the worst in the series, IMO - New Dawn wasn't bad though it tried to fix what FC5 did wrong.

I was a pretty big fan of Ubi's work up until 3-5 years back and since then I've really come to dislike them - they're up there with EA & Activision for me with the microtransactions and the draconian DRM - cracking teams actually removed VMProtect & Denuvo from AC Origins and the vids posted show the game running SO MUCH BETTER. Definitely won't be purchasing any Ubi games anytime soon, they've burnt up their good will with me.
