SPC Gear Introduces the AXIS USB High-fidelity Microphone

SPC Gear, the gaming label of the European manufacturer SilentiumPC, is launching a brand-new line of Streaming USB microphones named AXIS. The AXIS is a multi-purpose high-fidelity microphone with variable directionality technology. It is enclosed in a durable metal frame and mounted on top of a thick and stable base. Features of the AXIS microphone include a recording volume adjustment knob, a 3.5 mm mini-jack for connecting headphones, a potentiometer for volume control, a touch mute button, and even an adjustable RGB backlight. The most prominent feature is the ability to adjust recording direction, which allows users to choose from four polarity settings: cardioid, bi-directional, stereo and omni-directional. This makes it suitable for various applications, such as streaming, gaming with friends, or even recording podcasts with several people in the same room.

For many people, appearance matters even for microphones. The RGB backlight lets users match the microphone to their specific computer setup. It includes six different modes, with solid colours such as green, cyan, blue, pink, red, yellow, and even a rainbow mode which fluidly transitions through all the colours. The backlighting mode button is located on the bottom of the microphone, and for users who would rather do without backlighting, holding it for 3 seconds will turn it off completely.
Eye-catching colour and design
The AXIS Streaming microphone is also available in an Onyx White version, further extending the SPC Gear ONYX White series of eye-catching peripherals. This unique style combines white, silver, and shades of grey, and is designed around the rare white variety of onyx, a highly alluring and durable mineral. The striking aesthetic makes it a great addition to any similarly themed computer setup, and pairs exceptionally well with other Onyx White SPC Gear products.

Polarity settings
The AXIS microphone allows users to easily change the recording direction. The cardioid mode automatically isolates the speakers voice and muffles background noise, and works best while streaming or chatting with friends while gaming. The stereo mode allows users to create high-quality recordings of instrument sounds and vocals, preserving their natural depth and spaciousness. Two-way recording (front and back) conveniently records the conversation between two speakers sitting opposite from one another. There is also the omnidirectional mode, which allows for easy recording of all surrounding sounds. Users can change between the various polarity settings by pressing on the recording-volume knob, with the selected mode becoming easily identifiable by the four LEDs on the top of the microphone.

Touch mute button & volume adjustment
The AXIS comes with an integrated touch mute button on top of the microphone. The convenient location of the button allows users to quickly mute the mic during gaming, work, or study without having to reach for a hotkey on the keyboard or minimizing any applications or windows. Mute activation is indicated by a red LED on the top of the microphone. It is also equipped with a gain knob, allowing users to conveniently adjust recording volume whenever needed.

Anti-shock basket & pop filter
An integrated anti-shock basket reduces vibrations of the AXIS. A foam pop filter inside the microphone structure also blocks unwanted noise, such as rapidly moving air or breathing. These key features allow for cleaner and distortion-free audio recordings.

Plug & Play
The AXIS is a Plug & Play USB streaming microphone. It only needs to be plugged into the computer with the included USB cable and the drivers will install automatically. This allows users to enjoy high-quality recorded sound in no time. The microphone is compatible with Windows, Linux and macOS operating systems and does not require any additional software.

The SPC Gear AXIS and SPC Gear AXIS Onyx White are available starting today with an MSRP of 109.90€.

Is this a licensed product from HyperX for a replica of its Quadcast or something. Wow.

Clearly, the HyperX Quadcast is just an off-the-shelf microphone that Kingston licensed to put their branding on. This isn't too surprised but kind of cheesy that SPC Gear wouldn't find another design to use.
