Thermaltake Unveils the New Toughpower GF A3 ATX 3.0

Thermaltake, the leading PC DIY premium brand for Case, Cooling, Gaming peripherals, and enthusiast memory solutions, is excited to introduce the latest Toughpower GF A3 Gold series. Designed with Intel ATX 3.0 compliance, a native PCIe Gen 5.0 12+4pin modular interface, and 80 PLUS Gold efficiency, the Toughpower GF A3 is ready to fully support the newest-gen hardware. This PSU comes with the dimensions of 150 mm (W) x 86 mm (H) x 140 mm (D), and it has five watts to choose from, including 1200 W, 1050 W, 850 W, 750 W, and 650 W. Additionally, the Toughpower GF A3 Gold series meets Intel voltage regulation standards, which strengthens power stability and reliability.

The Intel ATX 3.0 specification of the Toughpower GF A3 allows for a 200% power excursion and a 60% low load efficiency, allowing steady power to your GPU. The native PCIe Gen 5.0 12VHPWR connector can power up the latest high-end graphics cards with a single cable. To smoothly supply power for hardware, the Toughpower GF A3 Gold series is equipped with superior Japanese 105°C/221°F main electrolytic capacitors, high amperage single +12V rail, and DC to DC design, which supports the highest durability, stability, and compatibility. Furthermore, the Toughpower GF A3 Gold series is built with industry-grade protections, such as OCP (Over Current Protection), OVP (Over Voltage Protection), UVP (Under Voltage Protection), OPP (Over Power Protection), SCP (Short Circuit Protection), OTP (Over Temperature Protection), to ensure hardware safety.
The Smart Zero Fan inside the Toughpower GF A3 Gold series produces excellent airflow with an incredibly quiet 120 mm fluid bearing fan, as well as the ability to minimize undesired noise. Designed with our Smart Zero Fan, the fan only spins until the load reaches a certain percentage of the power supply, and the users can turn it on and off by its physical switch. To achieve the power efficiency of the PC system and the eco design, the Toughpower GF A3 Gold series supports Intel deep power down C6/C7 status.

The Toughpower GF A3 Gold series is compatible with Intel ATX 3.0 standards, Intel voltage regulation standards, and its 80 PLUS Gold certified. Don't miss the Toughpower GF A3 Gold series, if you are looking for a high-quality fully modular PSU to support next-gen graphics cards and restricted with your chassis dimensions.

BMfan80Whats the difference between this and the Toughpower GF3 1200w?
guess the non A3 wasn't tough enough

In all seriousness without a review it would be hard to tell but the most obvious is price. The non A3 1200w launched a few months ago at a MSRP of $229, this A3 1200w version is at $189. Cost cutting is happening somewhere on these units.

Looking at basic specs
the A3 is
not as deep, 140mm vs 160mm
rated at 45c to 40c
smaller fan, 120mm to 135mm

Can we get verification that these comply with the "Intel ATX 3.0 Specifications".....:)

I mean they only mentioned it 6-7 times throughout the text of the PR, so exactly who are they trying to convince, us or themselves ?

Minus Infinity
I can see some people might like smaller PSU's but for me a larger slower quieter fan is preferred. These 120mm fans can get noisy under load.
