Maybe its me but this can't hold a candle anymore to Total War Warhammer. Graphically... aesthetically...

There are multiple pieces of video where units lack shadows. Models are low poly/low detail/flat. And it looks like factions are symmetric. Didn't we play this a half dozen times already by now? I guess this is truly aimed at the history fans, much like Troy etc.

Should be black for Southern Egypt and what the Middle East looks like today but even darker. The influence of Rome is huge.

For me it's the variety. I have all the DLCs for the TW Warhammer series, and i have played maybe 3/4 legendary lords. It takes me about a month to finish a campiagn on short victory conditions. I have yet to play Tzeentch, Khorne, Greenskins or Undivided. Only played once with the Chorfs, and once with the Beastmen or Wood Elves. I have probably another 500 hours in the game, to finish a short campaign with every LL.

As for the graphics, i don't know if they are maxed out in those trailer. I mean Ultra preset + Extreme shadow and screen space reflections.

You hit the nail on the head but for me it is also Magic. I played the hell out of Total War and totally enjoyed Rome, Medieval 2, Shogun 2 and Attila. I even enjoyed Rome 2. When TW Warhammer launched I was over the moon. The DLC were crazy Brettonia and the Wood Elves was great. All of that DLC was great but the strongest thing for me was Magic. When the Sisters DLC launched and you could get Ariel (too bad she has been gimped)it was great. So in that timeframe I got 3 Kingdoms (A Game that I dreamed about for TW). I was enjoying it until my 3 heroes that I knew from the Anime died. It was so jarring coming from a Game where your Legendary lord never dies that it effected my enjoyment of the Game. So I went back to Warhammer. Now they have released 3 and it was ok the new Races are kind of blah to me but I love the prologue Campaign. Now I am in an Immortals Empire Campaign playing as the Wood Elves and with one of the best things about the Game (Mods) I have every lord available to me. I am on turn 245 and less than 1/4 of the Map is mine. The Map in Immortal Empires is humongous.

I started about 20 years ago with Shogun, it was a steep learning curve, but i enjoyed it at the time. Then i tried Rome and Medieval, but they were not for me. A few years later in 2013 i got Shogun 2 cheap on Steam, played maybe 50 hours and abbandoned the Total War franchise until 2017, when i stumbled on to Warhammer. Bought it, and at first it was hard, with the magic, diplomacy and the fact i didn't knew anything about the Warhammer Fantasy lore. But i stuck with it, got in to those YT lore channels, then preorderd Warhammer 2 that same year. Found the Skaven :D and i have been playing the series since then. It is one of the few games i ever bought all the DLCs and i have sunk over 3000 hours in them. Pleny more to come if CA keeps their promises and support the game in to 2024 and beyond.

Never played the full IE map, i am in the minority and like smaller campaigns like the Vortex ones or ROC. But yes, there is so much stuff in it, it could keep you entertained for years with or without the modding community or new content.

PS: i even made the mistake to upgrade my platform from a Z390 to a Z690 and from 8600K to 12600K just for Warhammer 3, and i was both bummed and pleasently surprised by how well optimized on the GPU side TWH 3 is, compared to 1 and 2. Also made the mistake of buying a 3060Ti that i thought it was ok for 1440p. And found out that 8GB was ok only with High textures only. Sold the card and lost 50% of the money :/ and then bought a 4070 that is all i need for now in 90% of the maps and 1440p res with frame cap at 60. I'm waiting on the end of summer to see what DLCs they have prepped for us :)

Just to show how much I am into Total War. It used to be the reason I upgraded my PC. I went from a Prebuilt that played Rome fine to a 965 with a GTS450 for Medieval 2 then I got SLI and enjoyed 90% more frames and then Shogun 2 launched and I had to get more than 30 FPS so I got a 6800. Now I have a 7900XT combined with a 7900X3D and enjoy Ultra everything with 100+ FPS in battles. IE is completely it's own theatre and I cannot see less than 4-6 months of Everyday play to finish it. You would have to be Super aggressive as well.
