Steam Winter Sale Kicks Off With Some Great Deals

Steam has launched its Winter Sale 2023, which runs from December 21st to January 4th, offering some impressive deals on popular games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Diablo 4, Hoghwarts Legacy, Alan Wake 2, Assassin's Creed Mirage and others.

Although it does not offer free games, like it is the case with Epic Games Store Holiday Sale or GOG's Winter Sale, Steam might have the cheapest price on some games that you might have missed. There are plenty of titles on the list with discounts from 30, up to 75 percent, and it might be the perfect time to get some games that you might have missed.

Steam was also keen to announce the finalist for this year's Steam Awards, which you can vote for on the Steam Awards Page. There are several categories and you can cast your vote for each one.

The metro series, specially exodus
Castle crashers is a cult classic in my eyes
Geometry dash got a new update (after 7 years), which brings a literal new game with it, a platformer! That and the best level editor in gaming, and you'll have platformer content forever, eat your heart out nintendo
Psychonauts 2, not enough people talk about it
Superliminal! Fun, albeit short
Teardown, maybe not overlooked, but definitely good
The new wolfenstein games (except youngblood)
And force your friends to buy ultimate chicken horse with you, or buy the 4 pack, very great game to play with friends
Ricochet: greatest game of all time
Please, Don't touch anything: another fun little puzzle game, also has a vr version that works well from what I've heard
Enter the gungeon: not overlooked either, but it too is great and not played enough
Are these overlooked? No clue, but these are games that I don't see enough people play, so go do that

It's an Epic exclusive game and will probably stay that way for a while. At least a year. But it's on sale at Epic for a pretty good price ($26 US).

I was hoping there would be a big discount for Cities Skylines 2 but only 5 bucks off. Supposedly the game has improved but is still missing a lot of content and the economy is still mostly broken.

-Alan Wake 2 will be Epic exclusive forever. The game was published by Epic, it's not a standard exclusivity agreement, and so they're entitled to keep it available on their store only forever.

I'll just skip it in that case, as much as I'd like to play it. I'll pick up Quantum Break and Control instead in Steam.

Nier automata huh... prepare to have a mental breakdown over some fictional robots with a heavy dose of existentialism sprinkled in. It's one of those games that'll change you forever, well at least it did in my case.
