No More Booth Babes At E3 Expo
The newly renamed E3 Expo is getting a makeover, in an apparent attempt to refine it's image. Formerly known as the "Electronic Entertainment Expo", it's now going by the title "E3 Media & Business Summit". Gone are the booth babes, gone is the blasting techno music and $8 microwave cheese burgers. The former chaotic atmosphere is being replaced by luxury beach-side hotels, sushi restaurants and private conference rooms. Some have said in past years that the expo had become more of a spectacle of sorts, rather than a conference. This year the expo will be toned down, bereft of scantily clad women and flashy displays.

Noobs
There's nothing worse than going to a convention about cars, or electronics etc only to be smothered with mounds of silicone and annoying remixes of pac-man music.
It gives me something to think about, new motherboards, and hotter booth girls!
Then I am going to get a booth and wear a speedo! They didnt say anything about half nekkid d44ve!
Ron Burgandy rocks! :rockout:

That's like saying "Ok everyone, no shouting, no yelling, no pushing, and no fighting" at the Warped tour.
I'm glad they got rid of the babes and techno, this isn't supposed to be Hot Import Nights, dammit.
Now it's gonna suck... boo
They opened E3 to the public, it didn't do so well. They threw in the babes and the techno and the food and turned it into a theme park and it drew larger crowds. Who woulda thought?
To me, E3 is like a business seminar; They display upcoming industry products, revisions and prototypes.
They don't need booth babes, techno, hot dogs or any of that other junk to accomplish this. And having end user twit geek consumers and their 'gaming girl' girlfriends come out of the their darkened dungeon basements isn't doing them any good. They'll still make the products, they'll still inform who NEEDS to know and they'll still all be rich mother f******.
I equate this to sports arena ticket sales. No financially stable sports team is going to be riding on the income from ticket sales. If they are, then they got problems. Likewise, E3 and all of the manufacturer's involved, do not need the extra piddly cash gained from turning it into an adult circus.
I cannot stand when big wigs or politicians try to play the 'we're just like you guys!' angle. Lowering their standards and trying to mingle with the general populace/consumers. They are not us and we are not them. That's why they make millions and we don't. I rather prefer some business savy, cut throat and hostile market guru is at the top, aging and loving the smell of money more than his wife or kids, because that's the type of people that keep the world competitive. I don't want to think that the average joe schmoe is running Sony or the Presidency or whatever.
Now, music conventions are an entirely different thing. You goto G3 guitar conventions to meet the sick guitar gods in person. You don't go to E3 to meet the developers of Crysis. We care about the game, not them lol..
