Just a FYI, it already had the H.264 decoder. In fact, it's actually a version of CoreAVC.

I used to love QT, but the last time I installed it, it stole file associations and monkeyed with my browser (despite every attempt through it's interface to stop such behavior).

So, it will join Realplayer in the list of software I will not run on my box.

yea and also this is the first time that when it asks you to update you can only check both of those at once, not seperately as in all the other updates so far, I dont want the p.o.s. iTunes

The best is Quicktime Alternative ( www.codecguide.com/ ):
QuickTime Alternative was a codec package for Microsoft Windows created for playing QuickTime files (.MOV) with any video player that supports DirectShow. Normally, Apple's official QuickTime software is required to play back QuickTime .MOV video files.

Quicktime 7 isn't nearly as bad as the earlier versions. It no longer tries to take over your computer. lol I'm still not a fan of it tho.

I use Quicktime Alternative instead. All the codecs, minus the fuss.

I see. They didn't add H.264, they just updated the codec to a newer version.
