Fusion MCM By AMD & TSMC

The AMD Fusion is a multi-chip module, similar to the Intel quad-core Kentsfield/Clovertown and ATI's own Xenos for Xbox 360. The cores, memory controller and the Hypertransport are located on one die while the GPU is located on another connected to the main package with AMD's own tech. Aside the Fusion AMD is also to release the Montreal MCM which features two Shanghai dies slapped together onto a Socket F+/AM3. AMD and TSMC are working together in manufacturing the new MCM. AMD's Fab36 and Chartered will manufacture the CPU part of the MCM while TSMC will manufacture the graphics part. AMD has yet to announce the socket type that this processor will use.

Ahh, so the rumors turn out to be true. AMD has a chip with a built in GPU. I imagine the sucker is gonna be amazingly fast on graphics....but Id like to see some benchies comparing it to current AMD chips and C2d chips (both with independent GPUs) to gauge real performance.
