AMD and the American India Foundation (AIF), today announced the launch of a new 50x15 Learning Lab at the Government High School, Doddanakundi in Bangalore. The new Learning Lab is equipped with AMD Athlon Dual-Core processor-based Microsoft IQ PCs and will provide affordable Internet access to more than 200 school children.

The Learning Lab is part of the 50x15 Initiative, a global initiative founded by AMD to connect 50 percent of the world's population to the Internet by 2015. Built on the premise that no single entity can accomplish this ambitious goal alone, the initiative unites private, public and government partners. In addition to providing affordable Internet access and computing capability directly to the local students, the experiences gained from all 50x15 Learning Lab deployments around the world are presented in printable capsules at www.50x15.com. This will help others to leverage the experience and replicate similar successful business models that help foster digital inclusion.
