AMD RS780 is 261% Faster Than AMD 690G in 3DMark06

Today, AMD announced the AMD RS780 IGP chipset in China, and first benchmark results are already starting to spread around the web. Initial tests of 3Dmark05, 3Dmark06 and F.E.A.R. under Windows VISTA Ultimate using AMD Athlon X2 5000+, 2GB PC2-6400 Corsair memory and the integrated graphics on a 690G board and RS780 board show some spectacular differences:

3DMARK05 @690G=1105, @RS780=2495
Vista Experience Index @690G=3.1, @RS780=3.5
FEAR DEMO @690=15FPS, @RS780=29FPS
3DMARK 06 @690G : Score=321, SM2:147, HDR/SM3=0, CPU score = 1860
3DMARK 06 @RS780: Score=1162, SM2:380, HDR/SM3=441, CPU score 1869

In terms of 3D graphics performance, AMD RS780 is 2x faster than AMD 690G. In 3Dmark06, the difference is shocking, 1162 vs 321. That is 3.6x difference.

lol. really the comments here are great.

For a non gamer its excellent power - you can run vista on a HD display, it should have good media decoding capabilities, and it can at least run some older DX9 games at an ok framerate - as someone said, it beat his 7300, which means its not that bad.

AtnevonBut what will NVidia throw out. We still have to see what bahemeth could and will be released. It seemed AMD and ATi are is a struggle still to compete for the top segment. Which is what make support wars.
with the process shrink, they could retap out the 6800GT in IGP flavor if they really wanted to lol

might be too expensive, but that would be shweet.

Integrated video (until crysis :P) dictated a lot for gaming - far too many games were designed around the idea that onboard video should be the lowest minimum, and now that game designers are ignoring that (crysis, assasins creed etc) lots of pople with onboard arent even able to start the games.

I do want onboard solutions to get faster, cause it means more people are able to game.

^^ Since I don't have a card I want the opposite.
IGP's are pretty good if given enough memory. On my old ATI x200, whenever I played Battle for miidle earth 2 the comp used to restart,Then I went from 512Mb to 1Gb and it was better with the settings going up to medium without AA.

it kills my 7300gt
are you sure you don't have a 7300 GS? To my knowledge, the gs scores about 2k in 3dm05 , but the gs reaches about 4k
