ASUS Offers Premium Service for its High-end R.O.G. Motherboards

In addition to the newly released P6T6 WS Revolution workstation motherboard, ASUS has one more announcement to make today. From now on owners of high-end ASUS motherboards will have one more feature that will justify the price premium they pay over other brands. It's called ASUS Premium Service (APS) program and it will help consumers requiring RMA to cross-ship defective boards for replacement free of charge. In addition APS motherboards will be serviced faster and with higher priority so you won't have to wait months. ASUSTeK's current motherboards that support the Premium Service include most of the Republic of Gamers (R.O.G.) series boards as well as the Intel X58 iCore7 P6T Deluxe mainboard. The R.O.G. models included are: CROSSHAIR II FORMULA, MAXIMUS II FORMULA, RAMPAGE FORMULA, RAMPAGE EXTREME, RAMPAGE II EXTREME, STRIKER II NSE, STRIKER II EXTREME, and STRIKER II FORMULA. Effective immediately, owners of the above motherboards can benefit from the ASP if needed and contact the ASUS Customer Service or visit the ASUS Live Support.

Well, this is why the warranty is for, isn't it? To replace free of charge a defective product! Don't tell me they will replace a burnt MB...

And the last line is hilarious  In other words, if you have a defective Asus product, you wait months to be replaced :D Yesss, very good marketing indeed :pimp:

well - with Foxconn still 'bringing up the rear' so to speak & MSI still making boards that are more likely to become the heat source that toasts your marshmellows then break into the worlds best overclock. & with Asus's MASSIVE footprint in the market - its hard to avoid them completely. manufacturers will still release motherboards but not on the same level that ASUS can for every mobo that Gigabyte or whoever else can release - Asus will kick out another 5.

That not what I wanted.
The P6T Deluxe is more solid, but I don't like Asus warranty services, that why I choose EVGA over Asus. I'm not going Tri-sli anyway, P6T can handle higher memory speed, which mean better overclocking.

In terms of motherboards - i read in a mag that 2 MSI mobos that were meant to be included in the magazines' 'mobo megatest' never made the test due to the fact they couldnt stop smoking. EVERYTHING ELSE asside from their motherboards seem ok at the moment.

now biostar - only started shipping to Europe around 2 months ago. but ive seen a lot of their 'budget' grade boards in Hong Kong.

IMO Foxconn are still trying to play 'catch up' with all the main manufacturers due to them only deciding to hit the enthusiast market not long ago.

DFI on the other hand have gone a little quiet. back in the socket 939 days - they were all the song n dance & anyone that had a DFI board would rave about it. where are they now?? DFI are still there but keeping a low profile.

Asus is if not 'a' then 'the' - 'iron warmachine' of technology.

same can be said about AMD Vs. Intel - Intel has more or less saturated the market with their products. Asus has done the same.

I think this is pretty nifty. For the price premium you get "Better" customer service. Of course I may not whole heartedly agree but I mean its a nice feature.

I don't know if this i throwing a grenade, but how is Gigabyte support.,

I have been a big ASUS and EVGA fan for a long time and i was getting tired of paying 300+ for anything good.

Then GIG just came out with the P45 UD3P that was 116 after the 20mir
I was seeing some good results and i decided to take a chance, mean it was only 100.00

Well it was the best chance i took in a while, the board got me
to 4.8Ghz on my Q9650,
my first over 500 fsb,
got to 535fsb and
my first under 10 super Pi, which got my DDR 2 running 1284mhz and i know it will go higher.

So they hooked me for my next purchase and i went for the Gig X58,

But i haven't had to face their return or support yet, in fact the only Support I have had to deal with was EVGA and I would rate them high, they took care of my issues fast and kept me a customer and happy..

that is my support story.. So I hope GIG has some good support but that i never have to use it.....

Its nice they can offer such a service to its 'premium' customers. but saying that - if they can 'rush' RMA's then surely they should be offering this same service to EVERYONE to promote/market the entire company instead of offering the service to only a SELECT few.

like EVGA's step up program for graphics cards.

If they can work at that speed then why not keep it up CONSTANTLY? that way they will net more customers, & more customer satisfaction its like saying "we can work faster, but only when it suits us"

Higher priorities => faster services.
Asus isn't small like EVGA, Asus have ton of branch all over the world. And it's extreme hard to find an EVGA board in Asian, and if you can find one, it isn't from a proper provider, because EVGA does not offer products there yet. But, Asus, Gigabytes, you can see it everywhere!

You can speed up a few customers, but not all of them.

I bought a Crosshair II board off Ebay for $160 only thing that was missing was the LCD poster and the cables. When I tried to update the bios it wouldnt post so I sent just the board in for RMA. Less then 2 weeks later I got a Brand New Retail packaged Crosshair II with all the accessories.
On top of that the customer service rep I spoke to was very friendly very nice. Unlike other computer parts companies :cough: PNY & Buffalotech :cough:

Sounds more like a scam just to get you buy the next new HIGH priced mobo to me. If they were going be at least 1/2 decent they would of offered it to any high priced mobo say over $170.

One thing i do know if this board goes down and they take more than 3 weeks to get me a new one back they will not see my money any longer sinple as that.

I read and read and I cannot believe my eyes... Don't you guys have laws to protect the customer? Here, in Romania, they must swap/repair/whatever the board in 7-10 days tops. It's the law! But when I read "3 weeks" a.s.o., I wonder who's fault is it...
