EVGA Releases SLI Enhancement Patch

EVGA today announced a new piece of value-added feature for its customers: the EVGA SLI Enhancement. The feature forms as a part of NVIDIA Forceware drivers that has an expanded SLI profiles list. To make full use of two or more GPUs teamed in an SLI setup, games and 3D applications need "SLI profiles". The general Forceware driver isn't necessarily in tune with the frequency at which new games are released. EVGA has taken the initiative to release SLI profiles for games before NVIDIA does.

The company released the first release of the SLI Enhancement (version: 02.11.09), which is based on NVIDIA Forceware 182.05 driver suite, and supports the entire range of graphics products EVGA currently sells. When installed, the software intends to boost performance in SLI setups for Burnout Paradise and Necrovision Demo (DX10 Mode), apart from all the applications Forceware 182.05 already has profiles for. sorry to clarify, i mean on non EVGA cards. well at least i hope so, Kudos to EVGA for being the market leader for doing it, but if its on the net it'll probably get patched.

wolfsorry to clarify, i mean on non EVGA cards. well at least i hope so, Kudos to EVGA for being the market leader for doing it, but if its on the net it'll probably get patched.
Well its just sli profiles so they could very easily be copied I suppose. I've never seen what a sli profile is but I assume you could copy the available options etc.

its possible that EVGA coded in some binarys in the patch that will only respond to EVGA hardware identifiers, but programming isn't my specialty.

I bet non evga cards can use these profiles. Think about it: You have two xfx 8800gt's in SLI, suddenly evga is the company giving a damn enough to give you better performance. When you go to make your next video card purchase, you'll remember that, and lean towards evga.

I will download it tonight and give it a go to see if it will work with my XFX 8800's. I have an Evga mobo so I would assume that it will work (fingers crossed).

I would just flash my bios to an evga one. Problem solved for everyone :)

I'm guessing that they will work with any card, not just eVGA's, just like all their other "eVGA exclusive" software.

Of course it is very easy to code in a check to make sure you have an eVGA card, GPU-z already does it, but eVGA doesn't seem to operate like that. Everything they release seems to work just fine with other manufacturers cards.
