Geforce 7900 pricing revealed
The 7900GT will cost around 329€ or $299 US Dollars. This puts the card spot on the price point of the old 7800GT. The Geforce 7900 GTX 512 will cost a mere 549€s. I feel sorry for all the people who spend over $700 US Dollars on their 7800GTX 512 not 2 months ago. There are rumors out there that the card may only have 24 pipelines as well, but lets hope not. Apparently NVIDIA will have some 7900GTX 512 to ship on the day of the announcement. The 7900GT will follow a few weeks later, if not on the same day. Maybe I will be able to get a cheap 7800 GTX as it will be slower than the 7900GT and thus should cost less.

I wish your statement of finding a 7800GTX cheap would be right, but I doubt it. The reason is bc Nvidia is trying to do the same thing that ATI did with its x1800 series when the x1900 series came out. That is get rid of the 7800 series. As seen with the x1800 series they are still highly priced and not worth it. The same with the 7800GTX will prob. happen. But there is some good news. As you could SLI together 2 different cards which is a nice feature so why not get a 7900GT if it does size up against the 7800GTX.

2 days before theINQ mentioned that the 7800GT/GTX is EOL...
still I am hoping that prices on Ebay for 7800GTXs will fall thru the floor. I have one, and I want another.
I just did not think that it would be so cheap..as the X1900 cards are more expensive....
cheers

There will not be a larger audience buying 7900s when they come out. A lot of people have purchased x1900 series. When some jump ship to sell their x1900 for a 7900 they be hard press to find a buyer because it won't sell :rockout: :toast:
Because you will either want to upgrade from a older VC or want 2 of them for crossfire. Which has not matured yet and they just started to remove the dongle on the less expensive versions.
That's what you get for being a sellout :slap:

also gives me a bit of hope, latly ati and nvidia have been releasing a 500-600 buck card every 3 months, but theres been no new 150-250 buck cards since the GT/GTO´s and the 6800GS, which were basicly left over 6800 and X800 chips. and with the X800 having no HDR or PS 3.0 and the 6800 not being fully compatible with SM 3.0. unless you spent 500 bucks, you couldnt play a game with full quality.
a cheaper card might force you to play at a lower resolution, but in this case, those arent features that get turn on when yo move down from 1600x1200 to 1024x768, if the card dosnt have it, you could play at 640x480 but the features would still be missing.
