Seriously though, nvidia deserve a good pasting after all the renaming they keep doing and Fermi delays and this video is a good parody of this situation.

Both nVidia and AMD are pretty much american. ATI was canadian, before being acquired by AMD.

hate to break it to you but all 3 companies were founded by Asian engineers. but now technically both amd and nvidia are American companies, nvidia more so than amd though based on corporate locations. Both trade publicly in the NYSE.
you know I'm pretty sure I would have noticed if fermi was launched during the dark ages.

I just really want info for better evaluation of what they are really going to offer rather than just turn it into an Nvidia bashing thread. I am looking into it in an intellectual sense and not the politics of either side. I have read the fermi white papers.
What really matters is who controls their direction now, and thats all it was ever about. I am glad you know that though.

HD6870 isn't expected to hit until Q4 2010 giving nvidia a good 6 months to reign with the GT300 if everything goes smoothly(which it obviously isn't),

Well If it releases in Q3 like the video stated...... That wouldn't give it 6 months until the 6870 releases that would only give it 3 months. ( but not that I am being that picky because I understand that video is just for fun )
But still even if it comes out in march ..... Nvidia would still be way behind! By then ATI could get in a 5890 and be along on their way with the 6800 series at GF!
I'm sorry FEMI is going to have to be one heck of a card to make any difference...... other than pricing wars! But that's just My Opinion.

Spring of 2010 is not that far off. I got close to $1k put aside for my Fermi/GPU upgrades, probably a little more after I dump my GT2xx GPU's. By then there should be at least few more DirectX 11 titles on the shelves to take advantage of. (AvP, BF:BC2, DnD, and one or two others from bigger studios and many more from smaller shops).

Don't get me wrong I hope so too! I fully expect them to be more powerful than the 5800 series. Because look how long they have had after the 5800 series released. But I don't expect them to be that much more powerful.
Not only that like I stated if they are really powerful or not is not really the question here...... what really concerns me is price wars. One releases the other one drops to their price. And Vica Versa!
That is what we need right now. Because sure the 5870 is an awesome card! I own one!!! But It's definitely not a $425.00 dollar good card. No card is but that doesn't mean I am as guilty as the next man for paying that much

today i sold my 9800gt to buy fermi
why this much delay...never tried any Ati cards...
Will buy nvidia only...
nvidia is planning to release 2 cards...any idea about specs of those cards ? are they high end types ?? (I am planning to buy something similar to gtx 260 or 280)
Have fun with your onboard for some time! Nobody knows when or what Nvidia is going to release. What if the card is horrible and a total flop? You still Nvidia only? I think you're taking a gamble on little to no information.
