I just want to throw in another vote for Titan Quest and the Immortal Throne expansion. I've gotten lots of gameplay out of this little gem simply due to the fact that the combination of classes, weapon types, and special socketable items. Check out TitanCalc for an idea of what the skills are like.

You can usually get the Titan Quest Gold edition for like $10 and it's totally worth that much. Just know that it is very much a "hack-n-slash" type action RPG and not something slower paced with alternative interaction dialogues like Oblivion or whatnot. You grind through the game killing hoards of baddies as quickly as possible to get to the next level. The gameplay can get very repetitious, but the gameplay variety I mentioned earlier combined with the "decent" graphics, enemy uniqueness, and interesting story keep you hooked for longer than you would expect.

ok I just installed it .. i am gonna mess around for a little bit just to see if it can hold my attention for more than like 15 minutes.

what server are you on just in case?

I play on Iris. Good luck trying to get on though, the website that I mentioned before is showing that Iris has a 3.7% probability to connect. Try again later on in the day, or just run the game and alt-tab out of it and do some other stuff.

Here's the website I was talking about. As you can see, the servers are almost always completely loaded... I don't know what changes the Probability to Connect, but once it gets to ~40 you have a pretty good chance of getting in within like 5 minutes.

Again, are you on Steam? It will be really easy to talk through there.

ya I use to play GW all the time it was really good. I am waiting on GW2 and hopefully they dont ruin it

Its not ruined imo. Not sure about the economy though, since that is what the devs intentionally planned ar first.. to root out grinding and mass farming

I still log on from time to time, and do RA or AB with obscure builds for the lols.

Not multiplayer but I found Gothic 3 to be a very good RPG and the best part is it can be played in 1st person. Two Worlds is also a good single player RPG that can be played in 1st person via a mod. Also Arx Fatalis and Morrowind.. again single player.. but these embody great RPG elements like few can. Also Dark Messiah of Might and Magic is good.

( sorry I don't play multiplayer games but if your stuck without an internet connection these fill the RPG lust nicely)

300 hours? lmao. back in the original everquest (well Kunark) I knew people with 120+ days played game time. on one character. I had around 50. 100x 24 = 2400 hours played. now _that_ was a game!

ya from what i hear it was amazing ... but that was back before i got into MMOs :shadedshu

now it is just too late for all the old ones that were amazing...

I still dont see how people log that many hours on one toon. I wish i could then my guys would always be bad ass I normally play about 50-100 hours on a toon and make something new instead of keeping it going and maxing one guy out
