Wanna Try Out New TechPowerUp Design?

Well...I hate change too but I understand we needed some...updates.

*ahem*

I DONT LIKE CHANGE

latest chrome:

that seems like a lot of wasted space on the sides?

edit: ah, thats where the ads go.

It's not the site that has a fixed width, it's those side ear-panels. So even when you view the site from a 3840x2160 screen, the sides are just as narrow, while the site scales up.

:fear:My name is broken.:fear:

Broken M&M's .....sad :(

they're gunna need some new letters. M&A&M&P&M's doesnt have the same ring to it.

that's not entirely correct. the site is fluid width up to a certain maximum width. current tpu design is the same with a higher maximum value. the primary reason is that text becomes incredibly hard to read if everything is just one line of text, it also makes layouting easier

mine is win7. i just have noticed that this problem is present on all pages (more or less depending on font they use), so i guess this is something at my side.
HA didnt changed anything.

Try running the cleartype setup utility.
Are you running the default fonts or did you change any... in windows or in oprera's preferences?

font looks smooth on the latest firefox

new ui looks nice. idk if its the thick blue bars Or the color blue for the bar Or text on the news articles

something within that area seems a little off. cant wait to see it finished

could you elaborate?

could you elaborate?

my opinion on it was that something is off within the article section but everything around it is fine

but i cant tell exactly what it is.

the thick blue bars, maybe thinner would look more neat

article font size\color, i liked black on the fonts

something is off to me and somewhere around those seemed to be it. but thats just my opinion

Seems to work a lot better than the current TPU page on my tablet which has a 2048x1536 resolution. The current TPU page cannot resolve the ads in fullwidth when in portrait.

I just found this thread and checked the new look - well, it's as butt-ugly as I thought it would be.
The fonts are horrible. Why couldn't you at least keep those intact? Different frames, some better functionality, allright, but this... Yuck.
According to last years' internet standards, ithe whole site is washed up as hell, overbright to the point of being unconfortable to the eyes, and fonts so pale text is almost unreadable. Well done.

So much for constructive criticism. Sorry, couldn't help myself.

Yes, if you could darken the side borders Wiz it would be grateful. I wear irlen lenses and i also find it too much.

it's darker now. any better?

nop nothing changed, at least not intentionally. if something is changed would be from setup of some program i havnt noticed. i dont use this pc for text correction or presentations so i dont really pay attention to fonts. gona check this cleartype if it make it better.

PS yap with clear type on is better. strange is that this problem was affecting only opera. in ie10 everything was shinny.

Will there be an option like this? Just noticed it on the current site. Might appease some people.

currently it's not planned. i never heard of anyone using it. it's old stuff from 2007 when people had 800x600 monitors. tpu default on current and future design is the widest choice anyway. so those buttons work only to make it more narrow (so it looks like all those other sites you visit)

looks & feels fresh

I like it!

I updated my bookmark. Looks ready for prime time to me.

I tried taking a look, but can't on my smartphone it always takes me to tpu mobile.

Since the update I have a problem on the mobile app techpowerup, I cannot see latest case mods, the last one that works is R4'ized Define Mini.

The older one works, but the newer one display just a white picture. It will load the pictures when I click on gallery, but when I try to see a picture it will hang (stuck on Loading).

Phone is Xperia Play, android 2.3.4

techpowerup application is updated to the latest version.
