Screw Premium, for now at least. Paying $110 at release for a single game send the wrong message for us consumers anyway. I need to look at more details about it and the DLCs first too. Besides, they have added and changed so much (for the better) in this game I'd kinda like to see the same level of newness and coolness and extras and customization in BF4 Premium as well (different colored lasers at least!)

Auto is dependent on your system configuration. Auto could equate to LOW settings for one user and ULTRA for another. Regardless, even with the recent patch/update it needs further optimizations. I say it will be better 2-3 months after release and hopefully on sale for those who are on the fence purchasing it.

Well I cancelled my PS4 preorders because of something that came up (not the console yet) and tried out BF3 again on the PC yesterday. Was a good change from CS:GO. I forgot I spent 30 hours on the PS3 version. I'm thinking I'm gonna pick BF4 up when Green Man has a good special on it for PC. The thing I still hate is the stupid joining from the browser thing.

A new update was applied. Now it works as it should except I had a few crashes but the stutter and sudden heavy dips in FPS are mostly gone. I have all the reasons to believe the final game will run smooth enough on my hardware. Now, the problem is where do I get the money to buy the game.

What are you getting with that 570 man? Also what settings?

Finally unlocked carbines

I prefer playing engi because with all those camping snipers one of them is usually smart enough to paint the choppers for free kills using magic homing rpg's... That being said, rpg's should not be able to lock on to air, and stingers need a serious buff. Can use 4 stingers on a helo and all it does is damage the engine

Fun fact.. if you have origin in offline mode and double click a bf4 shortcut on your desktop it opens the game and you get a cool looking cinematic and ability to edit your options

Yeah, it also seems the vehicles are self healing whereas in BF3 the damage was like a ticking bomb. Hope that's sorted.

Trust us with stingers? HA... We occasionally get at4's with minimal training on how to use them.. Cause if we run into a situation where we need to use them, well we done goofed.

I can't give you FPS since AB OSD apparently not working on 64bit so I can't keep an eye. Is Fraps working? Maybe I'll give it a try later. Anyway, settings are ultra preset except MSAA which is 2x. Remember though I have 1680x1050 res and to my feeling it runs pretty comparable with BF3 where I usually have somewhere in the 50 FPS depending of course on the maps and the mayhem around. I think the hiccups were mainly due to the taxing on CPU. Dice has to optimize this since not everybody has i7 running at 5GHz.

For fps in console type "perfoverlay.drawfps 1"

That brings up in game fps counter.

It will grow on you. Seems stupid to have to quit the game to rejoin a server and what not but loads pretty quick esp if on SSD and Battlelog has so many other improvements and cool bells and whistles over traditional browsers.

Yes, that is exactly it. I was a little let down at first after some big excitement but you need to spend more time. We aren't just drinking the fanboy kool aid here it's a real improvement with a lot of little (and some not-so-little) additions as you will see. This is not a 'Modern Warfare situation', thankfully.

Start your own squad and spot flags before you take them for mad points.

The big air bases like bagram are entirely defended by air force cops, which means we're out doing sam footprints and show of force.. etc.. By no means do I like the term "air forces infantry", because that's not what we're trained as. At best we make a decent light infantry QRF. Our thing is ABGD (air base ground defense).

Haha I HATEEE when people call us infantry.. I spent 2 years attached to an army counter terror task force and I know we're not infantry. Unfortunately the best term to describe MP's/SF outside the wire is as a "light infantry" group.

You do realize its a beta right, not a demo? Along with running old code. Also graphics and options are not all there or optimized.

Even outside of that you have to spend some time in order to experience enough to make you realize it is in fact a "new game" and not just a paint job with commander mode and what not.

Played Obliteration last night. Pretty damn fun. Especially when its a full blown team vs team fight with the bomb right in the middle and teams only 50ft from each other.

So last night's update casued the game to stop working for me
I have 3.5 hours in so far and went to play last night after Origin updated the game and then when I actually go to join a server my screen goes all white. I can hear the game but cannot see anything. I didn't try disabling SLI. Might try that tonight...
