Editorial GALAX GeForce EX OC "White Gamer" Series: Epic Product Name Fail

Perhaps, but if editorials don't set the political tone of a site, what would? And that's why it's important to stay neutral and out of propaganda like this

While true in a way that has earned a hearty like from me, I was speaking strictly of ethics code. That is more what I'd term "age ol' wisdom."

I'm part of the media myself, and our job is not to make something out of nothing, it's to make something out of something. Making something out of nothing is reserved for propaganda, which media can choose to be part of, but never should.
If they dont they wont make a living and they wont even be able run a business. i agree being a reporter or an editor may be the hardest job on earth, if you do it according to ethics or according to what accepted to "right" among most people. if you do so you may become jobless, live in a danger or even get killed! so good luck with that!

Quite comical............especially the white guy in a hoodie. I think it's safe to say this is Google Translates fault( or the chinese equivalent.. which probably copied Google :D) All jokes aside... this could actually appeal to a certain demographic here in the U.S. I can see some rallying around a product targeted at the much maligned white race...lol! :D

Too bad they screwed it all up by using a BLACK pcb. Only reason I even clicked this link is the hopes of another WHITE PCB. They would have sold tons!

Maybe they could call it the Paid TAXXXES edition?

Still glad some people got the fun i was poking at this absurdity. Still unique product names and marketing will always trump jumping on a band wagon. Again with 3 different cards with white coolers and interesting features. With monikers such as their HOF and EX OC SNPR white there really is no reason to add Gaming or Gamer to the mix which I think is the point people are missing here.

Literally all they had to do was not use Gamer in a GPU that is obviously targeted at Gamers..... I mean I get it apparently the average person is an idiot and can't tell a GPU with RGB LEDs and crazy looking cooler while sporting a GeForce product that is made for gamers needs to be told directly hey this card is all about Gamers / Gaming.

The situation is stupid but heres hoping GALAX and others maybe look into better product names and less riding each others coat tails hoping that equals success.

Really, TPU, REALLY?! And more so, REALLY, @crazyeyesreaper, REALLY?! You just single handedly threw TPU to the smelly pile of SJW-sites with this absolutely non-issue to anyone with even tinies bit of common sense left.
Clearly you know how to take a joke.. :kookoo:

The whole article was deliberately intended to be humorous and showcase how silly and ridiculous the names have become. The name Galax choose for the card in question was likely a funny jab in and of itself at the likes of EVGA's Black edition cards.

Blah, Blah, and Blah. I'm SOOOO Right, You Soooo Wrong! Blah, Blah, Blah...but I do this better than you, Blah, blah,Blah...

If only you all would just shut the hell up and play a fricking game, Please!

Joke is on YOU, for taking this for anything but serious nothingness. BTW, name has been changed. Maybe we should now start a thread about how wishy washy these companies are, listening to the PC police, and folding.. Any one? Bueller?

:shadedshu:

I was super offended by this gpu, & nearly drove off the road when i saw this post, while updating my facebook status'. I can barely catch my breath.....& i demand action!

its high time we stand against the color white, and its hateful connotations.

Obsidian (for black) or Ghost (for white)

Except that I think that Samual Jackson would make a fantastic ghost. And so very Black a ghost would he be!

Could have been worse if the card was named "White Supreme" ;)

I heard Galax has a vacancy in their product marketing team, I'd say go for it

Exactly! Still waiting for TPU to offer that Dark theme. I'm offended every time I post here. That's well over 6k offended moments now.

If it was meant to be humorous, it didn't read like that to at least to me - granted I'm not native english speaker so some nuances could easily be lost

Galax doesn't even sell their cards in the US so it doesn't even matter. People in other countries are not that sensitive.

Lost in translation

i don't want to know what they would name their power supply if they decide to make one
Galax 500W white pxxxx

Only if that guy on the box was wearing a white hoodie or it was a burning cross at the background then i'd be a bit concerned .... ^^

Total non issue.

The only people that get offended by this are millennials, snowflakes, feminists and people who more than likely sat a gender studies course in university -- In fact, ive most likely already offended some people by offering my opinion...

I can understand why the name can be seen offensive. But lets not jump the gun here and REMEMBER that Galax is a Chinese company and Chinese companies dont necessarily English good and they have no reason to even though it may help sales.

Its obvious that something was lost in translation as chinese to english translation is always weird or derpy due to how the chinese language is... Sometimes its a little back to front in more ways than one and I am Chinese so id like to think that i know what im talking about.
The same people that get triggered every winter. XD
