What do you guys think i bought it for $1,600 US

Gaming laptop specs:

Windows Vista Ultimate (64-bit)
Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Processor T7500 (2.20 GHz, 4 MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)
17.0" WXGA+ High-Definition BrightView Widescreen Display (1440 x 900)
2GB DDR2 RAM
512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS
250GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-RW with Double Layer Support
High Capacity 8 Cell Lithium Ion Battery

I think you should get pics of it ;)

It's good but um...vista 64bit?

^^ I agree but 64bit i dont know is the drivers better now in 64bit

Looks like you got an updated version of mine u wont be dissapointed as for 64bit but i dont have any problems now even gaming is excellent. :toast:

Well... Not bad for a laptop. Kinda pricey tho. You could have build a killer 2x8800GTS rig with that money...

Good Laptop but for $1600 i would have expected HP to throw in a 1680x1050 display for a 17" screen. Though the 1440x900 doesnt sound that bad also. Have fun with the laptop m8.

I personally am going to stay away from 64 bit operating systems for right now. Too many potential headaches.

well when i get it ill let u guys know if theres anything wrong with it and my system.

i mean the 64-bit OS anyway

Kinda overpriced imo. Still nice none the less! Have fun but why not a killer gaming desktop?

That's what I was thinking.

I think gaming on a laptop is stupid. Desktops are made for gaming, not laptops. And laptops are uncomfortable for gaming.

Not everyone needs max res and detail hat.

I for one am one of those "everyone" :p

I don't need max res and detail either, look at my specs...
I'm just saying, laptops get hot, and they're just not made for gaming... there's nothing wrong with playing an occasional game on a laptop you take with you on vacation or something, but to make a laptop your main rig is just rediculous imo. There's very little overclocking ability, it's uncomfortable for gaming, etc

ok then but for me continually going to mates places and lans id much rather lug a laptop then a case monitor keyboard ect and yeah they do get hot but lappys like rocks top of the line ones proove there are laptop gamers out there.

I agree. With 1200$ you can get Quad-Core and a HD 3870, whats better than that??

Nice laptop man! Vista X64 is a great system, better than XP 32bit IMO.

This might rival that system. :)

There are very decent laptops out there. It is just a matter of looking for them.

Heck even this one is a good one for its price.

well the most i will play on it are HL1 mods, HL2 and WoW

i mean i also have a PC but the laptop will mostly be used to repair other PCs

cuz the way i see it if u get a gaming laptop then u get a laptop thats good for anything
games require lots of memory and great hardware
