With my AMD Turion 2.2 ghz and ATi Radeon 2600 HD (512 mb) video card I'm getting an aver age of 25 Frames Per Second on World of Warcraft, with MOST of the graphics toned down.

This only started happening recently... and I'm not sure what's going on but I've updated my graphics drivers today, set all of the ATi Radeon's specifications to High Performance and turned down my AA and AF settings... still crappy FPS.

Help?

make sure no AA or AF is forced, not in game but in the control. the HD2600 is a low end video card, but I was able to play wow with an old x200 and get better FPS than that...

what resolution?
also, ive got a beastly 8800GTS512 for sale, $130 shipped if you are interested.

im not very observant. Soon there will be an E-PCI-e, if they ever get around to finishing it, it will create an external solution for desktops and laptops.

Laptops arent very good gaming machines, and that is a steep resolution, but i still would think you could be able to get 50+ FPS at good settings, i can get probably over 400@1200p.
I would say keep toggling different graphics settings on/off, and possibly return everything to stock. couls you do a GPU-Z ss for us possibly?

hmm... not sure if you meant to overclock it to 50GHZ, but could that be an error with GPU-Z? am i the only one that notices this? try to overclock the memory to 360 with RivaTuner.

It looks like it just spiked to that somehow... otherwise RivaTuner doesn't seem to allow me to modify anything with my video card.

thats some nice memory bandwidth mine is only 128gb/sec :p

that fill rate is insanely low much lower than a 2600 should be, my old 5700 was only about that much, and it would run bad in WoW too.

i could be wrong, that could be an error or something i dunno :?

compareitively my 2900xt gets about 10-11 on the fillrate

correction, 11.9 GPixel/s and GTexel/s

25 fps is pretty low. i've max everything out and play at 1360x768 and get 45fps on citys. and about 75-90fps outside of towns and low populated areas.

this is with a 2900gt

his fill rate is like 1/10th of yours tho, if gpuz is right

altho there isnt alot of reason to assume its right, since almost everything else is definatly wrong

Try playing with the graphics settings. There's usually one or two on/off switches for effects that can be pretty taxing.

The most recent 2600 HD driver from ATI.

dude i think that could be your problem... you down have a desktop radeon 2600... you have a "mobility" radeon 2600.... that link for the vista 64bit catalyst control center is for the desktop card not the laptop "mobility" driver.

Already did that. Ran mobility modder on the desktop display driver to mod it to mobility formats....

It appears to have installed the driver, but even after tweaking not much of a difference.

Still having problems with the overlocking tools though.
