The 9600GT is 1,000,000 times better than those. (*the 250 would be overkill till you get a faster comp)
And at that resolution will play all new games at med to high settings. I would be careful though as there are some 9600GTs that dont need the extra power connections. I notice their memory speeds are lower so I would get the 9600GT that has 1800mhz memory speed and needs a power plug. Your power supply should be able to run it as long as yuo dont force it too much.

The HD 4850 has 256-bit GDDR3 and the HD 4770 has 128-bit GDDR5.An interesting question really, as most of you people should know the 250 IS basically
a re-jigged and re-released 9800/8800 series card.....so that takes us onto the Radeons'
....well although the 4770 has a cut-down 4800 series chipset, it does have faster memory using GDDR3.
The 4850 has a full 4800 series chipset but it uses slower GDDR5.
The upshot of this is that the Best card of the three Is the Radeon 4850, i'll explain my reasoning behing this,
The 250 = Full blown Old(er) Chipset - DX10
The 4770 = Cut-Down New(er) Chipset - DX10.1
The 4850 = Full blown New(er) Chipset - DX10.1
BUT a few things still to think about,
1, What resolution are you likely to run...(higher resolutions require powerful cards and
more Video memory to run well?)
2, What is your preference Green or Red? (you'll never change a fanboy!!)
and lastly what is your budget....?
answer all three and you're likely to get a card that suits you and runs well.
The HD 4850 has 256-bit GDDR3 and the HD 4770 has 128-bit GDDR5.
The GDDR5 memory on the HD 4770 also overclocks much better than the memory on the 4850.
The HD 4770 is cut down but runs at a much higher core clock than the 4850,
as a result the 4770 is very very close to the 4850 in performance.

Nope, I got a IceQ4 for that matter, and it doesn't clock as well as many cheap looking 4770s.....and yet it can't quite beat the 4850.... as I said one of the main deciding factors has to be price.... I personally wouldn't buy a HD4770 if I could get a HD4850 for the same (or very near) price! The HD4850 wasn't a great overclocker I think this was due to poor stock coolers and heat dissipation, I replaced the stock cooler on mine with a Neo Vortex and overclocked it by a good 15% with no great issues...

The 40nm manufacturing process of the 4770 is simply too much to beat in OCing.
A good 4770 can easily do 15%+ OCing and up to 33% on the memory if you are lucky.

Unfortunately the gap between the 5770 and a 5850 is simply too great this timeWonder what the new 5770 cards clock like? Zubasa, If the 4770 can give the 4850 a good run for its' money
then the 5770 should in theory be able to give the 5850 a equally good run for its' money
Unfortunately the gap between the 5770 and a 5850 is simply too great this time
The HD 5850 is double the specs of 5750s, so I can tell you that it is impossible for a 5770 to do so.
The HD 4770 on the other hand, is more powerful than expected.
It was suppose to take the 4830's place but it in the end, took on the 4850 very easily.
Those 160SP that it lost together with the 40nm process in the end makes it a damn good clocker.
buy a 5750 or a 5770 they basically double the performance of the 4000 series ati's and are pretty dam cheap for what they do

I'd say the HD 5770 has slightly better performance than the HD 4870, although sometimes it can be on par with the 4890. But with the HD 5770 you also save on your electricity bill, so it's cheaper in the end.I may be wrong here, but I was under the impression if you have a 4870X2, 4850X2, 4890 or even a 4870, then they beat the 5770?....
