Chill games

If you like point-and-clickish adventure games sans the point-and-click part (which is what I understand LA Noire to be. Haven't played it, tbh), Murdered: Soul Suspect is an ok-ish game to try. It's got the detective part, although more of an occult theme than a fantasy one.

I know you said no sims, but why not consider Kerbal Space Program? Worst case scenario you could name all your missions Sputniks and Vostoks and deliberately crash them for your own personal symbolic acts of rebellion on said decadent commies... :|

Radeons make everything chill :D

I've looked for The Longest Journey several times already prior to this as it looks really neat but couldn't find any download links, it simply wasn't uploaded anywhere, or it was a long time ago but the links are long gone now. See, I can't pay for Steam, or any platform for the matter, it's a long story but imagine a game is $10, I'd have to pay those $10 but also an additional 106% in taxes to the government, and it's not as easy as doing 10+106% because the taxes aren't calculated all at the same time, once again long story. I don't even have a card that's compatible with international services.

Do I have to play it to understand Dreamfall?
It's on Steam at least. https://store.steampowered.com/app/6310/The_Longest_Journey/

And I'd recommend playing it before Dreamfall, as Dreamfall is a sequel having some same characters.

That's a good one though haven't finished it.

Look, all the people here can do is recommend titles.

According to PCGamingWiki, The Longest Journey is available from several stores:

not just Steam.

It's up to OP to source the games. No one here knows what retail avenues are available to OP nor additional charges specific to the undisclosed locality.

As community members we can feel sympathetic to OP's situation however it shouldn't change what game titles are recommended per OP's requested criteria. OP wasn't asking for pity. OP was asking for game recommendations.

I'll throw Perspective in to the mix. It's got some platform aspects, but at least take a look.

She's saying that her card isn't compatible with International Services. No pity, just telling Lenne why she can't play The Longest Journey first before Dreamfall and it's not absolutely necessary to play The Longest Journey first.

Doom eternal is very chill. You get to travel to new worlds and listen to a nice soundtrack, the locals are friendly too - always trying to introduce themselves.
In the first age, in the first battle, when the shadows first lengthened, one stood. He chose the path of perpetual happiness. In his ravenous chill he found peace, and with cool blood he went for a walk through the Umbral Plains, seeking friendship with the dark lords who had invited him for a BBQ.

Morning everyone.

Can you recommend me some single player games to relax?
On non-hard difficulty setting, Banner Saga 1-3 could be fun for you. Invisible Inc, Griftlands, Loop Hero.

I’ll mention Bastion and Transistor here too, simply because they are awesome, but they can get unchill at times.

How about Apex Legends? Sorry, just joking!

Okay, more serious now. Maybe puzzles or story driven titles? In no particular order:

Myst
Disco Elysium
Paradise Killer
The Medium
Stray
Outer Wilds
In Other Waters
Portal
and Portal 2
Manifold Garden
Journey
Islands: Non-Places
Flower
Sable

The Tomb Raider series is story driven, especially the rebooted trilogy (starting in 2013). Sure, Lara Croft has to fight sometimes but it's not one boss fight after another.

The Subnautica titles have some crafting, not sure if it's too much for you. They are visually appealing though.
I've just started playing Stray and it's awesome. It's a bit platformy, but not too much. Portal is a classic, a must-play for everyone.

My favourite space chill game ever is Freelancer. It's quite old, it even runs on my Atom-based compute stick. Homeworld is nice too, although Homeworld 2's learning curve is more steep than I like.

Another chill game I can definitely recommend is Abzû.

I've got a radical suggestion, how about not gaming?
Any game you play at all, isn't it stimulating your senses? serious question. Stimulated senses is kind of the opposite to relaxing, if you get my logic.
If the OP is having issues with relaxing, perhaps a more lateral approach to thinking about solving the problem could be in order. :)

Tales of the north and maybe that cat game, what was it? Stray or something like that

Fallout 3 was free on Epic game store or you could you know go outside and chill with nature

Have you played NieR Automata?

I cannot guarantee your emotional integrity afterwards, though... it messes with your feelings in ways you didn't think possible before.

When you play as a cat and there's a dedicated button for meowing, you know that it's a masterpiece. Liked it.

Also the fact that it runs well on my HTPC with the GT 1030 at 1080p low graphics while also looking reasonably good.

CK2 is free to play without expansions, and I seriously recommend giving it a go.

As in Crusader Kings 2.

Very similar to Untitled Goose Game (released 2019) where you play a horrible goose who excels at annoying human beings.

There's a dedicated button for honking.

Available on Steam, Epic, itch.io according to PCGamingWiki.

Stronghold HD and Stronghold Crusader. You have a free building mode where you don't get attacked by anyone and you're free to build a castle and an economy in peace.

The Wolf Among Us also comes to mind, it does have QTE fighting scenes but they're not that many, you're mostly investigating murder. That one was brilliant.

Both games could run on an overclocked potato. No worries about performance.

planescape torment

depends on what you like to chill by, i chill with fallout 3 or 4 flat or VR i just like building stuff, Skyrim too, dishonoured 1 and 2, the BioShock's, prey well anything but wave shooters and ive never liked them or driving games but im think i may try the F1 in VR when it gets a bit cheaper.

The Plague Tale games - despite their very dark setting - are actually pretty chill to play. And I still can't get over how good the last one looks lol

I was just thinking of this, I haven't played the first game yet.

This one is weird. I tried playing it but I couldn't understand a thing, I think you start in a small area, similar to Dark Souls but the first enemies are jumping rubbish bins, after a while I got to fight against some sort of boss CAT construction machine but didn't knew what to do as in how to defeat it because the game switched to a 2D gameplay and there was no way to hit a thing that was pretty far. I uninstalled it after that.

I turned Fallout 4 into a real postapocalyptic nightmare with all the best from STALKER, Metro and a bit of soulslike difficulty to make it even better. I can only save the game at beds and if I die I have to start all over again from the last savegame, neat huh? I went for a heavy build, has its perks but it's not the best when stealth is needed, I've also added quest mods and random encounters. Not what I'd call chill for sure, you can't be chill when a pack of angry synths could be just around the corner ready to blast you.

Oh yes, it starts with 2B sent on a mission to attack an Engels-class mecha  :D

This game is worth putting your time into mate... but it's really, really emotional i'd go as far as saying there is life before and after you play it. If you haven't yet you should play NieR Replicant 1.22 and then retry it. Best damn games I have ever played.
