Chinese PC enthusiast website Coolaler set a new world-record score for the lowest time taken to crunch Super Pi 1M benchmark, their setup did it in 7.281 seconds. Here's what they used to achieve this feat:

  • Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 at 6.253 GHz (625 x 10) with VCore of 1.936V
  • DFI LAN-Party UT P35 motherboard
  • G.Skill 4GBPI DDR2 at 1285MHz memory
  • Liquid Nitrogen (LN2) cooling

Looking at their previous run of 6.143 GHz, this is also the highest overclock for the E8600 so far.

Can anyone pickup my jaw!!!:respect::eek:

I'd say that's a bit fast.

But 1.936 for the vcore...jeeze.

Nearly a 100% overclock, freakin nice! Holy Cow man look at the size of that FSB!

Not only an FSB of 625 but also with 1t on the RAM. Congrats Coolaler!

Man, that is so freaking impressive, but what is the POINT? 1.9V has to kill the chip very quickly.

The point? To brag about overclocking a Core 2 Duo to over 6GHz with your geeky friends.

By the same token, what's the point of drag racing? The point is it's something some people like to do, for both themselves, and for the competition. People that get their stuff from a sponsor don't worry about blowing shit up, trust me. lol.

That guy gets free stuff so its fun, I wouldnt go toasting cpu's if it was my money :P

He has had a ton of records for many things in the past, I just have to wonder why superpi.... I thought the world has moved onto wprime since its a multicore cpu bench.

so... you can play a game with that? :)

Who cares? You can't drive a Funny Car on teh streets either. 24/7 usability is not the point.

they made a new intel cpu maybe release in 2011

i wonder why he didnt use one of the new Biostar P45s they are getting much hugher FSBs (700+)

That's damn impressive :respect:

I wish I had an e8600 tho :(

says who, you can alot of things as long as you don't get caught. lol besides funny cars are run ehad to head, whats to say kinc or kingpin couldn't have done this lol.

Ummm, gas consumption says you can't drive it on the street. It's gallons per mile in those things. They can eat a gallon of fuel just idling at the starting line. lol.

And when going for world ET records, you don't have to go head to head.
