PC-specific

[AMD SMT] Optimized default core/thread utilization for 4-core and 6-core AMD Ryzen(tm) processors. 8-core, 12-core and 16-core processors remain unchanged and behaving as intended. This change was implemented in cooperation with AMD and based on tests on both sides indicating that performance improvement occurs only on CPUs with 6 cores and less.

Fixed an issue with the way Raw Input is collected.

Removed the use of AVX instruction set thus fixing crashes occurring at the end of the Prologue on processors not supporting AVX.

Removed debug console to prevent functions that could lead to crashes or blocked quests. This doesn't mean we don't want to support the modding community. Stay tuned for more info on that.

Ray traced reflections should no longer seem too bright in comparison to the environment.

Fixed an issue with Steam Overlay crash on game shutdown.

Removed the memory_pool_budgets.csv file. which was not connected with the final version of the game and had no influence on it (it was a leftover file used during the development to estimate memory usage. It had no effect on how much memory was actually allocated). Perceived performance increase after editing the file may have been related to restarting the game.

In spite of the launch, I still get the feeling that this game will be around for a long time. People will still be playing it years later. Maybe people forget that TW3 launch wasn't remotely good, either.

CD Projekt needs to break out the guillotine, this isn't the first time bad management has bitten them in the ass - they have a pattern of bad decisions and this just happens to be the biggest yet. Their stocks are plummeting because of very very bad decisions on the part of their executives. Like, double-digit percentage drops. Nearly $2B! Seems investors aren't scrambling to catch that falling knife. Somebody has to go... I mean, they'll survive it, THIS time.

The game itself has SO much good in it. I think it's very unlikely that it will be passed up, once fixed. Modding is also majorly on their side. They may never get that goodwill back, but I'll be very surprised if the game does all that badly in the end. They should be handing out purple hearts to the devs for this... the stuff that's good, is brilliant.

Seems like they always catch the short end. I wonder if that's actually part of that hiring listing though. Knowing they can't kill off their talent with crazy workloads because some jackasses got trigger happy with the release.

That must be infuriating. I'd be about ready to walk out if I spent all of this time working on this game sincerely thinking that I'm working on possibly one of the most anticipated games ever, with all of these awesome techs and artists, making all of these sacrifices, seeing things start to come together thinking there's much more to do but man it's getting good... only to have corporate turn around and rush it out after you tell them it's not ready. And then to watch the backlash, anger, and hatred... AFTER getting death threats for the delays before... and then still be caught in the scramble to try to realize the original vision. Just hands up, shouting at the sky "WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!?!?!?!?!?!" They have to be more disappointed than anyone.

The thing is... most people would've been happy to wait. For me, that hasn't really changed, though to be fair, I can complete the game and have a great time so I would say that. I can just play it as is. But still, if this was still pre-release, I think most fans would say that too. Sometimes I still think I'd rather hear nothing from them for 3-6 months and have them come back out of the blue.

You asking where I got the physical copy? I preordered it from Best Buy and ended up getting it on December 8th.

I also like the OST for the game, especially the main menu theme. Maybe I have terrible taste in music, I dunno.

I'm enjoying the game for what it is right now. It has potential to become something special.

nothing against more, aside co-op.... uhhhhhhh .... it's a pure solo game with a stone set story with an ending that is a definitive ending about a main protagonist who you only decide gender, starting origin/mission and basic look... imagine a TW3 with a dozen of Geralt of Rivia? not much sense ... ( well if there was a TW game with Letho of Gulet as P2 co-op ... maybe ... but only if it's in the game since the start)

unless made correctly, aka one player V and all the other player are either "ventriloquist npc" (joke)"fixer", "animals, tyger and mael" "ncpd, MaxTac, random vegetable" i can't see any fun in it... and nope i do not really like co-op in a strong story driven game (imho main reason why FFXV "MP" part failed)

bah, luckily it will be optional if implemented ... (most likely a co-op "a la mass effect" with better implementation i hope, for those who await it )

Anyone remember the No Man's Sky fiasco? Similar in some ways and Hello Games put it right in the end, thus reinstating their credibility.
I feel CDPR find themselves in a similar situation and although I haven't had one single crash or freeze, I have had the odd, weird bug that frankly just made me snigger, they can and should row themselves out of this and smartish.
Remember all that hype? I felt sure this was bound to happen.

yeah quite like that, although the issues are mostly tied to console... maybe CP2077 should have been a PC exclusive for some time before hitting the consoles :laugh:

Apparently the game was never utilizing all logical cores on AMD Ryzen CPUs which results in FPS drops. Someone posted a fix for that using a hex editor, and would you know it.. afterwards CDPR released a fix in v1.05 for Ryzen's SMT.
