Feedback & Bug Reports for new Forums

Testing youtube embedding:

Clearly i need to test the warning system and do a few, TMM seems like an obvious candidate, of course I can always reverse (hopefully if everything is in place now :)), seems odd that a 25 point Perma Ban will come across as a warning lol!

W1zz already gave me an infraction. Its working perfectly fine. lol

I like how youtube videos can be maximized now. I hated trying to watch a video on the old forums cause you were restricted to the size it embedded it at unless you opened it in another window.

I want to rename some of my threads and I want to edit some posts as well. How on Earth to do that?

Cheers

the edit timer is 3 days i think. is that not enough?

Why is it timed in the first place? What if I want to remove dead links and stuff or if I just want to update a thing or two?

@W1zzard : Can you make it so that posts in the mod only forums show up in the new posts list for us?

Edit timer is 3 days? What about FS threads???

And this back button issue is seriously making it frustrating to browse the forums...

I can't edit some of my posts that I made before the upgrade, for example all the ones in my Ghosts thread:

http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/the-official-cod-ghosts-thread.193927

Imported posts in some other threads I am able to edit, however.

Also, my imported polls are now missing and I can't add them back. :(

EDIT:

Just seen this:

the edit timer is 3 days i think. is that not enough?

Is this an intentional restriction then? If so, I'd prefer it the way it was. I had reason to edit posts that were very old occasionally.

You know to be quite honest I was on the fence and decided to look around before judging though at first I wasnt too impressed I have to say I am digging the new forums. I mean shaking off vb this is a really clean fresh interface. and the integration of certain things is definitely more fluid and doesnt seem like an add-on so much as it is part of the forum

To add, clubhouse forums cannot be edited. This is atrocious. There are a handful of us that take pride in the work that we put into an OP in a clubhouse forum or a large discussion topic, including For Sale threads, and to not be able to edit after 3 days is a hard pill to swallow. Not to mention all the people that appreciate the hard work that goes into these posts.

Wrote a plugin to fix the quotes in signatures. The format to link to the source post has changed though with xenforo, so people need to manually update their quotes in signatures

YT embedding works, thanks for testing RMC.

alright, i removed the post editing time limit, the forum saves an edit history anyway

Is it possible at some point to add a reply button to the top of the page?

The new look works great on a Windows 8 phone.

Also ran into this clicking on an alert to go to thread with new posts.

Code:
Template Errors: thread_view
htmlspecialchars() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in /home/techpowerup/www/forums/library/TPUSigQuote/BbCodeFormatterBase.php, line 46:
45:    <link rel="canonical" href="' . XenForo_Template_Helper_Core::link('canonical:threads', $thread, array(
46: 'page' => $page
47: )) . '" />';

can you reproduce? what's the link?

There doesn't seem to be a way to find threads that I've started by clicking a link in my control panel or prefs, like in the old forum. The only way I can do it is by running a general search for threads started with my username, which is a bit laborious, since I do need to do this search fairly often.

btw thanks for switching on the wysiwyg editor. This area is a big improvement over the old tags editor, which was a real pain in the ass. :)

Overall I'm finding the new software a mixed bag, with some things better on here and some better on vB. I like the new, brighter colour scheme.

I'm starting to get used to this... still going to take awhile for me to find everything. Liking the way the spoiler tags show an image compared to the old system

Couple of questions (PM related):

- Is there a way to delete PM's/conversations- the only option I noticed is "leave conversation"... does that delete it?
- Is there still a 1,000 message limit on PM's- If so where is it listed?
- Will w be able to sort our PM's into folders at some point?

and

Can you make the online indicator/the green light larger? It's hard to see

Thanks!

The new PM system is badass. getting used to the forums as well. :)

I like how PM's like a private forum thread it's easier to follow conversations.
