Steam or Xbox app because there seem to still be lots of issues on the latter.
Last I tried running in Jan it wouldn't even get into the game.

Yea I'm on Xbox app too, the game would just hang and not load or crash once it got to main menu. Tried multiple drivers and nada.
Will give it another go tonight, but still seeing lots of "broken game" reviews being left on the app (we shall see) :/

I had some issues with the Game on Gamepass. After the 3rd time having to re-download it. I just bought it on Steam when it was on sale. No problems since. I played a session the other day. The racing was fun but not visceral.

This game has been broken for me for a while now. I don't know if it was an update, or if its driver related.. but I can only do one race. If I continue to a new race, my frames at 4K go from 60fps down to 18. Complete bullshit. I have to exit the game and start it up again to go to another race. If I choose a race in another section, I might get lucky and be able to play. Also a lot of chop with my 58X3D. I reinstalled windows, reinstalled the game.. bah. I have over 100 hours into and at driver level 202, so I am a bit miffed.

How does your benchmark look like after it start hitching? Guess it's an Amd cpu issue? Would be wierd since xbox runs on amd hw.
I have two intel systems that runs great, one nvidia and one amd ‍

It ran perfectly, its probably some kind of glitch with my setup. I will start fresh this weekend, top to bottom and see what happens.

OK well good news, after a new install + latest driver (551.86) it seems to be running well for now.

Got most of the way through Super Sedan series, no crashes or anything janky.
Running mostly Ultra/High settings (no RT) and not going below 120 FPS range.

The game seems to have improved visually as well (it was like some settings weren't being applied before).
Last I played the console version actually looked better, so I'll have to revisit that.

I wanted to play this game, but it had overally rocky start. Is now a good time to give it a try or we still wait for some performance issues to be solved or new, worth waiting content? I would play single player only, something like career.

Finished Super Sedans (M3 Competition) and just picked up a Lotus Emira - holy cornering, you can chuck this thing around with authority

I'd say it is (thankfully), yea.
I've been playing career mode without any issues for the past few days now.

Thank you for an answer. I'll give it a try. I haven't played any racing game for a while and currently I'm in one of these gaming crises when gaming doesn't give much fun - it's always due to playing games not good enough, ones good, but which I don't feel like or just needing something refreshing from forgotten genre :]

I recently re-installed and the RDNA3 performance is much better now. Still don't like structure of career mode though.

I still love this game, happy they fixed it. Would get some hard chugging when starting a race after completing one.

After update 7 it's MUCH smoother, but now I get the odd vram exceeded message on 1440p Ultra. Meh.

No serious issues for me w it lately.

FPS tend to tank a bit at the start of a new track, but they level out completely after half a lap or so.
I'll start out in the 110-120s and then be pegged at 144 after the first lap most times depending on weather condidtions.

I gave it a try and had amazing time :> Btw it happened to be my first more simulational racing game I got into in my 25 years of playing games. It made me realize that I've never liked racing games (not counting splitscreen with friends) not just because, but thanks to all I've tried happened definitely arcadish. I just don't get craziness of those games with absurd speeds, crashes etc. I've always thought that I just don't find racing fun when on the other hand really liked it as element of non-racing games like ones in GTA series or Far Cry and their simple time trials. Motorsport happened to open to me door of never explored genre, so it was definitely worth a trial. Now I just can't decide where to go next time I feel like racing: maybe some F1, rally or even bikes - it's all tempting and feeling like different kinds of adventures I've never had :>

About performance, from my side no complaints in terms of gameplay smoothness, but I don't use framerate counters. Generally if I'm not satisfied with smoothness I just feel, I search for some graphics guides and lower details. Last update removed only stutter I was noticing, one in cinematics after training loads, but I'm not sure if it didn't worsen a little detail pop-in, especially trees. But maybe it's a thing of some tracks being more likely to show it. Definitely Nvidia onwers using DLSS remember to manualy update DLSS file and check it every other update - lastest still use 3.5 version and replaced whatever you put here.

Thrilled you had a good time, but yeah, if you want realism you can do far better than this. Sim racing is its own sub-genre, and it gets pretty wild.

I want realism which is playable with gamepad. I know that Motorsport doesn't aim to be as realistic as sims like Assetto Corsa, but I found it nicely challenging with all of the assists turned off. I also liked immersion from removing most of the hud like map; state of tires; petrol and speedometer to have additional fun using ones cars have built-in

Forza has a massive bug atm where when you finish a race, you get a hard crash. I'm devastated.

I was playing yesterday till about 1AM and had no crashes or anything (552.22 drivers).

That’s how it was for me the update before last. I am not changing anything with my system now that you said that

For me it wouldn’t crash, but it would chug hard.
