Go from 70fps at 4k completely cpu limited to 80fps at 768p likely your 12900k is fast enough at 4k to not be cpu limited is likely why you are not seeing a difference.

I have 15 hours in so far, no crashes yet. However, I get stutters on every track on certain parts of the tracks even with RT off and graphic settings turned down. I should be able to run this at 4k max settings with RT on low which is Geforce-optimised settings. I have FH 5 still installed and it runs at 4k max with no problems.

After new update and 23.10.2 drivers no change, still crashed at rewards screen. Not everytime but like 95% of the time. Shame.

Mine still crashes on the 2nd Track (Homestead I think) in Career Track Day. I am so glad I got this on Game pass or I would be pissed. I have been playing a ton of 7 before this release and the only things this has over that are the Graphics and non 60 FPS lock. It is ridiculous that a Game from the Company that makes the OS the Game runs on cannot workout bugs that ruin the experience. I wanted to grind to get the LMDH Caddy (They better add the BMW and Lambo too at that) but this Game has frustrated me. Luckily my Arcade fix has been satisfied by NFS Hot Pursuit Re-mas as that Game has something that Grid does best nowadays and apply a fun factor that made Gaming so compelling when the Graphics were not what they are today.

Well, the latest update ironed out a lot of framerate issues, but I'm still sour that
1. Forza Horizon 5 , a open world game, still eats less VRAM and throws more stable, acceptable frame rate.
2. Forza Motorsport 8 still throws away the progress on featured cup sometimes...

The last time I played was the other day, before the update, with the original Forza driver I guess.. had no problems.. I just played today after updating both and put in a solid hour

Most the problems seem to be on AMD gpus though.

I am going to check and see last time I looked I did not see that. On another tangent I actually was able to do 3 Races in MP yesterday. It was actually fun.

Or... they just haven't got capable devs anymore. Like so many studios with long running franchises. I know enough just looking at the videos. If you still can't nail a racing game by iteration 8, you need to GTFO. There are no wheels to reinvent. There is only a better iteration. Otherwise, what the fck are you even wasting time for... And also, how do you even manage to make something you already have, notably worse in multiple ways. The only possible explanations are greed and incompetence.

Can you run everything maxed out with lowest possible resolution? Want to see how much faster is the 7900x 3d compared to the 12900k

Nah, FM7 on PC is just completely broken. Three of my mates tried to play that game and it would crash constantly for all of them, despite seemingly being stable everywhere else. Both AMD & Nvidia GPUs, only thing in common is AMD CPUs. Some of those crashes were 100% reproducible as well, try googling "FM7 PC crash watkins glen" for just one example.

I played the game on an Xbox One S and it would commonly crash there as well, so at this point I'm convinced the game is borked. For all of FM8s problems it hasn't crashed on me (yet), so that's something.

The real issue I am finding is certain tracks in certain areas are absolute FPS tanks. Best example I can give is at the bottom of Turn 1 on Laguna Seca the Andretti Hairpin. My FPS tanks to like 50 tho the rest of the track I'm running around at 90-100fps...
For the MP racing that is locked at 60 I can't imagine trying to do that turn with with a full grid of other players...

It tends to drop FPS whenever it has another alternate track visible. It is off putting but I think I'm just used to it at this point. Soon as they get all the bugs out of Forza, I would give it a 10, absolutely love it.

I've not tried MP yet as I'm having to re-learn how to drive with consistency. No more Forza Motorsport 4 physics.

Lost progress bug, as in, the game can't hold on to saved data. If you don't understand how fundamental that really is, nobody can help you in your perception of this title. Perhaps 200 hours might skew your view on things a bit

But yes also i suspect a FEW issues with the new game are not at all issues with the game

Love the actual driving, looks/gfx wise , not overly impressed tbh.
Running it in 1440p mostly ultra setting with RT set to car reflections, and it simply doesnt look that great

Horizon 5 looks way better imho, i thought with how long theyve had with this, it would be a bit more impressive on the gfx side, but that aside, really enjoying the driving, steady fps, no game crashes as yet, cant complain to much as playing it on PC gamepass.

Its gfx are like just eh nothing record breaking but I think since the PS4 theres been nk real improvement
