ok... what you sead is .. what ??? haaa. ok flash it withthe ATI x850xtpe biso then reflash it with defalt bois and i will keep the 16 pips at clocking at 850Pro settings ? right :)
 
ok.. i have made a bootablfloopy. and tested it. it works.. and i put the Atiflash 3.09 tp floppy. ."there was two things in the Atiflash, do i put Both htings on the flopy " when i boot off the bootablefloopy. what to i do then.. put in the atiflash floppy then typ in -s 0 bios.bin, then -f -p 0 Newbiosname.bin then reboot ?
cos when i try to put in the atiflash flopy nothing happens.. :S

iv been rereading some stuff here
http://www.techpowerup.com/articles/...ng/vidcard/100 talks about a Yellow tab on the card. saying if the card has it,, Its a VIVO card ?? i thought i have a ATI card ? or is that the same thing ??
And do i put the Atiflash 3.09 on the same floppy as the Bootablefloppy ? i boot form the bootablefloppy and get the Dos thing wiht A/> then put in the Atiflash floppy and nothing happens .. And and do i put the New bios i want in on the Atiflash Floppy.. I have got the New Bios tey,, But just want to be ready when i do.. Sorry for be a Noober
 
VIVO means Video IN, Video OUT, and it's just a feature of your card.

When you boot into dos with the floppy disk, type the following:

atiflash -p -f -newbios 0 [biosname].bin

The 0 is a zero just to be completely clear.
 
cool ok.. but after i boot in dos, do i then put the flopy in that has the new x850xt bios in then typ that in ?
 
oh, i see what's going wrong.

On the bootable floppy disk you made, you need to have atiflash, and the new (and original) bios on the same disk. It won't work if you need to switch between disks.

ok.. getting closer .lol this is what i have on the Floopy
when i booted in Dos. i typ in " atiflash -p -f -newbios 0 ATI.X850XT.bin "
the i got this Error " 0fL01 " the 1 may of been a l " grrr so close.. i get the bios off that link you guys give here with all the bios on it

Try renaming the bios to something without two dots in it, that could possibly have confused atiflash.

atix850xt.bin should be fine.

At least your getting somewhere! :roll: Good job!

i tryed A:\>atiflash -p -f -newbios 0 ATIX850XT.bin " with the same error.. i add a pic this time of what i have on the floppy. And also the xt bois i am trying. But i renamed it to ATIX850XT... should i just be going for the hole ball of wax here and do the X850xt PE.. instead ?

same Error. and i tryed
atiflash -p -f -newbios 0 atix850xtpe.bin
atiflash -newbios -f -p 0 atix850xtpe.bin
Just as it shows here i how i typed it in the dos window 1005 the same way .. And i got the same error both ways
Error: 0FL01 . the Os hnd a small dot in the sencert of then..
And trying aging.. i have made a new floppy....:banghead:

ok ,, same thing the ERROR 0FL01 . File can not be found ." the file being x850xtpe" but as you can see in my last post,, the x850xtpe.bin file is on the floppy. Let me try putting .bin in the name ?? hmm:twitch:

and you will see i hav eboth the x850xt and the x850xtpe on the floppy.. i tryed both of then

JJ have read your posts try making new boot disk with the attached flashrom instead of atiflash then copy your XTPE bios to the bootdisk and follow notes in attached text file

well you need to download the atiflash software from this site "techpowerup.com" and then format a disquette "with system " on it with windows put atiflash and the bios rebooot with disquette in and then use the "atiflash -newbios -f -p 0 x850xtpe.bin then reboot and use atiflash -f -p 0 x850pro.bin "

Frogger....
i did as tyoutold.. "flashrom -s 0 back.bin"
that put a back up bin file on the flopy called back.. sweet... then i typed
"flashrom -f -p 0 x850xtpe.bin" that gave me
Serial Rom
" x850xtpe.bin" file open errer.
ERRER 0FL01
i tihn took out the flopy and rebooted , it came bac to windows . Soooo slose.. And yes Frogger.. as soon as i ge the other 4 pips open.. i will be reflashing it to the xt at 520/540
 
i have also tryed this with the x850xt bios now. and got the same errer as above..i wll add a pic of my Flashrom floppy and the stuff on it.. i real ythx you all for time and hand holding.. thx ... What am i doing worng ?! :banghead:

No, you don't want to reboot between flashing the two bios files.


JJjr, try shortening the name on the files. DOS can only handle file names with 8 characters before the period and 3 after the period, and as mentioned earlier, only 1 period. BTW, no spaces either (not saying you were doing that, though ;) )
 
Hey JJ just a shot but may be the bin file it self is corrupt I took the file you are trying to use and had a look with RaBit the device id was wrong changed it see att.
deletethe one on the floppy and un zip file use the name it has or change it copy to floppy try to reflash

Dolf uploaded this before will save you time tyring to test each time by flashing the rom give it a read and see what you think GREAT DUDE SAVE THE ATTACH FILES TO PLAY WITH. HAVE FUN WITH THE "NEW" PIPES
