Help, my computer won't boot.

You have let us know what PSU your using.......It's very relevant in this situation..........it "sounds" like your PSU or CPU to me......I'm leaning more toward the latter though....do you have a spare compatible CPU around?

Well if he dosnt he could always go and buy one for his new motherboard

Well I got it working with this new MB I had to plug in a cpu power supply that I had to find the adaptor for. But I am curious as to if the MB was the real problem, my old MB is alot better than this cheap one I just got, I'm gonna install the old one 1 more time and see if it works, if not then we def know that it's dead

ok what?
you had 1 mobo and you rmad it and got the same one back(same brand) and it still doesnt work?

So did you just forget to plug in the 4pin connector to this new cheap mobo for the CPU? to see if it is the Mobo that has died?

Your old mobo would also just have a 4pin as AMD's only use the 4pin far as i know, and the newer intels use 8pin to power the CPU's.

Just clarifying

AMD also can use 8pin, my My mobo you can use 4 or 8

The other day my computer froze so I held down the power button to turn it off but now when I hit the power button it looks and sounds like everything turns on ( MB, hdd, graphics card, watercooling etc....) but nothing shows on my monitor ( the monitor works fine). And also now when I hold down the power button to turn it off, nothing happens, it won't turn off!
Please help, any advice would be appreciated!
Pull the plug?

He has it fixed now :)

Ahh yes that is correct, i have built a computer with the Gigabyte MA790FX-DQ6 and forgot it had the 8pin just had 4 of them plugged up, my bad. Just don't see many at all, and never used the 8pin =/

So he has fixed it? so it was the Motherboard after all that died?

So I bought and installed a new MB, still nothing so I assume it is not my Asus MB. Is it possible that it could be my HDD, I don't hear it reading when I turn it on, and there is still no bios screen. The screen stays black. Any other suggestions?

Whoa, before you buy anything always call the tech support to your motherboard. If they can't find out whats wrong they will send you a new one for free. ;)
