Ok TURN OFF VSYNC, ENABLE FREESYNC+ENHANCED SYNC.

OC YOUR CPU TOO
Didn't help very much. Maybe 5%. It especially stutters when I change the refresh rate to 59/60 and I turn on Vsync.

Also I can't OC my cpu.

I did everything you said and tried something extra, how am I not listening?

I said turn vsync off, but enable freesync and enhanced sync, which are different from traditional vsync...

You're using a FreeSync monitor right? Set it to 75 Hz, enable FreeSync, enable Enhanced Sync. If you don't want the GPU to run balls out, set Frame Rate Target Control to 74 fps. V-Sync should be off in game settings.

What game is this in? What is the typical framerate you're seeing?

Unplug the TV (if it is plugged in) for the time being and focus on troubleshooting the computer/monitor.

I did all of this, now you aren't listening. I just added "It especially stutters when I change the refresh rate to 59/60 and I turn on Vsync. " when I tried it earlier.

The TV is not plugged in, this happens in every game as soon as I leave the FreeSync range. I did set the fps to 74 but it doesn't work in every game for some reason. Monitor is set at 75Hz and Enchanted Sync and FreeSync are enabled. And it doesn't work at all in a game called "The Forest" fps is at 74 but it's still stuttering with and without vysnc/freesync/enchanted sync. And yeah i turned of vsync in all of the games.

Well it sounds like very specific games, ask the game makers for help.

Have you overclocked the cpu at all?

By the way do you have a ssd yet?

He is asking you to change display settings to enabling freesync, not vsync. As well asking you to overclock cpu.

Plus, have you tried an SSD yet?

How many FPS is it running at when the problem occurs? You can use ctrl+shift+o to have Radeon Settings show the performance overlay.

With the settings the way they are, do most games work well? Is The Forest an exception to the rule?

My cpu is i5 4460, I can't overclock it. I'm getting an ssd tomorrow. Now I wish i never bought this GPU and I wouldn't have all of these problems. And yes, how many times do I have to say that I tried messing with pretty much everything possible in radeon settings.

You keep following it up by I change refresh rate to 59/60 and enable vsync though, you should by default not have vsync enabled and have freesync on with a 74fps cap regardless the fact your running 80+ fps you're not doing what is being asked. Don't change refresh rate don't enable vsync. Maybe the ssd will help you.

ReLive can record what the performance overlay shows.

Open Task Manager to the performance tab. Click on CPU. Right click on the graph -> Change Graph to -> Logical processors. It should look something like this:
example.png

Open the game (if it isn't already running).

Make sure to have the performance overlay open (ctrl+shift+o), to record with relive (ctrl+shift+r), capture a stutter, then stop the relive recording.

Quickly alt+tab to Task Manager, hit alt+print screen to capture a screenshot of the performance tab, and attach that picture.

Upload the video and note the time in the video when the stutter occurs.

Between the video and the picture, should be able to figure out what is happening.

I just said when it starts to happen. It goes away in some games when I turn on Freesync and set the cap to 74, but it doesn't help at all in some games please read all the posts jeez.

I did, but you still keep repeating that same line, that will not help you in any sense or manner, fact of the matter is you have a few issues, ram hdd and cpu you're not going to run all games maxed out without addressing these no matter what you do. And your attitude is off now also so I'm out of this thread gl.

Bummer, the performance overlay didn't catch the framerate in the video so the video isn't as helpful as I hoped it to be. FPS should show up on the bottom row of the overlay but it will only do that if overlay is opened after the game is running...

Is the game running borderless or fullscreen? If borderless, try fullscreen.

CPU is dangerously close to maximum load but it isn't at maximum therefore not likely to be the source of the stutters.

Memory is okay.

The graphics card is fine...most likely it is something specific to The Forest/Unity on DirectX 9 and FreeSync or something wonky with the monitor's FreeSync support.

You're using 19.2.2 drivers right? If not, make sure to update to that.

In the game, toggle the performance overlay on and off to try to get the FPS row to show up. If you can get it to show up, what FPS average are you getting when the stutters occur? Bare in mind that it shouldn't be exceeding what FRTC is set to so if it's significantly higher than that, there's something very broken with FRTC.

FPS is around 73, it only happens when I move, but while just looking around it's smooth.

FPS is around 73, it only happens when I move, but while just looking around it's smooth.

Working theories:
1. When you're moving modern engines are loading additional meshes and ur systme isn't loading them fast enough, even though the videocard is fine.
2. Your keyboard is messed up and causing the stuttering.

can you try a wired keyboard?

Honestly if it was your system the frame rate should drop with the stutters which makes me think it's an input device or some other latency after the scene is rendered that's not being picked up at the CPU/RAM/GPU rendering level.

So like TV, Keyboard, Mouse, audio etc. Something...

What version of AMD graphics drivers are you running? Have you tried the latest beta (19.2.2)?

Is FreeSync enabled in the monitor through the on-screen display setup?

Is it still doing it in other games with the same settings?
