How To: Enable SLI on pre-i7/i5 hardware

Here is my update on more of my testing. The previous build that worked SLI was not in RAID mode. So I resintalled win 7 x64 again with RAID enabled:
halmod 0.7 + SLI cert + unmodded drivers = BSOD

SLI cert + modded drivers = SLI enable

Is the halmod messing around with my raid?

I have raid too and everything is ok. post what did you do.
 
Just a bit feedback from my system: With my second GTX SLi runs very well and no problems with stability etc :)

SLi disabled: 26,2fps


SLi enabled: 48fps
 
Run the last SliStringInstaller,and *.DSL was generated . anatolymik said the mod cert was't inserted in SliStringInstaller anymore.
Do I need to inject DSDT.AML by using "asl /loadtable dsdt.aml -v" after Run SliStringInstaller ?

no it SliStringInstaller does
 
shoud I install Unmod drivers after MOD or before?

i love the way Crysis scales with SLI, its my only game....i play crysis wars, and cant wait to stick another GTX260 in with the one i got, i currently get around 40 FPS with a custom cfg. i would be happy with 60 FPS in SLI :D
 
Please give me some advice.though I do mod step by step as you said,I cannot make SLI enable in win7 64bit
1.turn off UAC ,Reboot
2.install unmod drivers 190.62,Reboot
3.run SliStringInstaller as administrator ,showing OK ,Reboot.
4.mount HALMOD VER0.71 by runnig install.cmd from CMD as administrator ,showing OK Reboot
SLI is invalid ,CPUZ shows X58 OK
what shoud I do? help me.

It is successful in winXP,but the MARK06's score is lower,so i want to try it in WIN7
 
hi guys i just got my second 8500GT, so testing some things at the moment, still no SLI, what are the latest mods? slistringinstaler and Halmod v71?

thanks be back soon, just going to re-image this rig and try again
 
HALMod v0.7 can't make SLI enable ,either.

ok heres where i am at,

HALMod v0.7 + unmoddriver 190.62 No SLI driver190.89 BSOD
HALMod v0.71 + unmoddriver 190.62 No SLI driver190.89 BSOD

i truly suspect that my dsdt is not loading using either of the sli string instalers, showing the same problem as the manual method, heres a screen shot...i have no ram info either :shadedshu

and i ran 'iasl -g' to extract the .dsl file to see if it had the sli string and i cant see it, here is a copy of it,

Ok. will do. I dont mind doing more tests now since I know a method of getting my SLI enabled. The only thing I like with the modded driver + SLI cert is I get the memory information on cpu-z.

U planning on fixing halmod so we still have the memory information on cpu-z? Also do I need to enable ACPI 2.0 in my bios? Right now my ACPI v2.0 is disabled(default setting) in my bios with SLI enabled using modded drivers.

yes i'm going to fix halmod. i haven't finished yet. ACPI v2.0 you may try
