How To: Enable SLI on pre-i7/i5 hardware

that i sent you

ok i loaded it, 'table overload succeeded' now just to get this right,

i am going to reboot, press F8, disable 'restart at BSOD' and then what? try and boot into windows?

ok i halted the BSOD, and it sais, 'that my bios is not fully ACPI compliant' i went into bios and enabled ACPI v2.0 but still get blue screen.

i think i need to re-instal win 7 with the new bios settings ehh?

i will post a screenshot in a moment

set ACPI 2.0 Enabled and reinstall OS

this is exactly what i thought, i must have forgot to enable it last time i flashed the bios, ok

now heres my plan,

instal win 7 with new bios setting,
loadtable with your file anatolymik
reboot and get back to you :D

thank you so far anatolymik, and fingers crossed this will work this time :D

heres the bsod, not that you need it,

when you get installed it
get dsdt .dat file by using "iasl -g" and send me it
after it
install driver
use latest SliStringInstaller and latest HALMod

yes, after i instaled the OS with ACPI enabled in bios, and with ACPI driver in place from windows update, loading table now

woot got the 'sli capable system woot, going to check options now

ok all good, i need to run some 3dmark to see how the scaling is, heres a screen,

anatolymik, i cannot express how much this means to me, i hvae been an AMD boy, and Nvidia boy for years, when AMD bought ATI it broke my heart, that doesnt matter anymore, becasue i now have the choice of SLI, and dont need to comprimise on my choices.

i owe you a very big beer :toast:

thank you again, i will post back some scaling info ;) and also stay with the thread to see if i can help out anywhere :D

sounndood
very very very very very big thanks to you for your cooperation, testing and patient.

now i know little more about sli cert. i'm going to add alternate approach to slistringinstaller.

scaling seems to be very good, granted this is only 2 8500GT's, but this is a great result as far as i am concerned, what do you guys think?
