Great PSU, made by Seasonic! I'd trust a 650W seasonic over any 1000W pos.

Actually, it's a CWT. They pretty much dropped Seasonic after the 520w and 620w HX's. Quality is still just as high tho.

Thanks guys, it's more that I'm unemployed and just can't justify dropping any more money on PC parts at the mo, I'm going to try daisy chaining a different PSU (antec 550w), and I'll consider swapping the 850W zalman out of my i7 rig that has a perfect amount of pci-e power.

lol i love how this failed SLI drivers thread turned into a general discussion thread

EDIT: i read hte last page, wolf jc and i'm sure you've done this, but have u tried running both cards solely from one PSU and the rest of your comp with the other PSU?

Yeah I had the original Zalman ZM600-HP powering the system and just the extra Coolermaster 650 for cards alone, but there may still be issues there as the cards draw some power from the board and thus a different PSU.

Theres a fair amount of success in this thread :toast:

Absolutely, I think the OP needs to be revised with post number 2037 at least, that is working for many people. (and I can enable SLi just not use it yet, from my specific issue)

Can't judge a book by its first page! lol
There are many that now have SLI enabled on non supported boards.
I myself have tested & got SLI working of three different chipsets, P35, IX38 & X48.
All that were not suppose to support SLI, but only crossfire.

You should read from post #277 onward if you would like to really know the progress that has been made.

I feel your pain wolf, anatolymik spent days making custom HALmod versions for my board and then I managed to fry one of my graphics cards a few minutes after he cracked it! But I got another card in the end, as I said at the time, good things come to those who wait... :)

Well 100% confirmed SLi is working, I get SLi performance from my cards, But I'm not game to let tests run through with that flicker.

Hello (I'm french), I would like to test the SLi on Asus Rampage Formula. I have two 8800GTS 512 with a bridge SLI and that does not work. Both cards recognized well . I used all the methodes quoted on this pages I arrive at nothing. Do both cards must have same bios?

Windows 7 + Rampage formula + 2 x 8800 GTS 512 ( MSI + Jetway: Same bios, same frequency, same device ID but different subvendor)

SLIStringInstaller v2.0 + HALMod v0.9 alpha but not SLI also with 190,62 or 191.07 Win7 x64 (WHQL)

:banghead::banghead::banghead:

My two 8800 GTS 512 card have now the same bios but no SLI on my Rampage Formula. What about flashing 8800GTS512 with Asus 9800GT Extreme (moded with 8800gts frequency) like other member in this topic. I try it but nvflash -4 -5 -6 don't work (bios nvidia 8800GTS512 -> Asus 9800GT)

Thanks.

I wouldn't flash an alternate BIOS on even if other users have posted success, two identical cards should work even with a different bios, if specs match.

I followed Post #2037 to a T and it works to an extent, I mean I can enable SLi at least.

Maybe a fresh 7 install?

It sounds like your doing everything I and other users have done, but something is holding it all back, is it possible to borrow or get your hands on a different 2 cards to try? maybe ones from a friends SLi system.

The post 2037 served me to model but it did not succeed. I am going to try to find neighbours on a French forum to make a test. I have good hope. Thank you.

Did someone install 195.39 successful? I have no SLI option after that. Maybe they have changed anything. Or must I install slistring and halmod again?

For ALL:

Forceware 195.39 is NOT SUPPORTED by SLI mod at this moment. There is some new protections there made by NVIDIA, to prevent illegal SLI. But that not a problem actually, coz 190-191 drivers have all the support of all latest videocard present for now.

Hi guys! I just registered to ask a question: Has anyone with an SLI cert string inserted into the DSDT table in the BIOS tried the 195.39 drivers? That's how I'm running SLI on my Foxconn BlackOps, but I'm using 191.07 drivers. If I get a chance, I'll test it tonight if nobody else has.

:respect: Many thanks.

But no Halmod.... :banghead:

You really don't need HalMod if you have it running the way from post 644.

No need running them both at the same time either.

But if you really want to try getting halmod working, try the driver sigh program.
It might help so long as test mode windows is enabled.
You will not be able to tell if its working by halmod unless you remove & replace the modded driver.
re-installing the video driver will overwrite the modded driver.
