I have 5pc of inno3d gt 520 lying around, today i tried to use 1 one it.

The problem is i can't make any driver work with it (error 43), all the 5 of it. I've tried 10 different driver starting from the latest.

A quick open to the card, i noticed the chip number is GT218-325-B1. A quick search show me that another person with that chip has a gt 210 instead of gt 520.

So it's clear now that this is a crap modified version of gt 520 - not hw fault.
I've tried too the latest version of gt 210 driver, but of course it will not working.

I don't care if this is a counterfeit product, i just want to make it works since i have a quite number on my hand. Sure another is because i can't no longer return it.

I believe i need a modified driver in order for this card to work, which i believe the cd that comes with the card has lost somewhere in the bin for a long time.

Anybody can help me with this case? or if i should contact nvidia directly, and where to contact them?
if it require to flash the bios, i'm fine too as long as it guaranteed to work.

The card

They're fakes for sure and are best chucked away. No way will nvidia help you with a fake product.

Good luck trying to get them to work otherwise.

You could try flashing them maybe. They're garbage anyway, so no biggie if you brick them. @eidairaman1

Poor sap really won't like my answer...

I'm sure i don't have any relate to them.
Just trying to share my headache.
At least youre posting back giving us updates. We had one thread that got closed because the guy posted three times but didnt provide us what we needed to know and gave very little info when he did post. Then vanished.

oh yeah,
inno3d still in business, right?
This looks too good for a counterfiet product, maybe for an oem market?

Usually they take parts from different video cards ,and put them together with either a modified or completely different bios , and market it as whatever fake item they're selling.

The manufacturers hold no responsibility. Your beef is with the person you got them from and only that person, basically with the person who sold them as something they are not. I know it may not be what you want to hear but it is the truth.

Also you mentioned not being able to return them any longer, if you're saying that due to some type of sellers return time frame, it doesn't matter, because the seller sold you a fake item so any laws or rules the seller may hold as far is return time frames go out the window, unless they sold them with some special condition, or stipulation attached.

your country of residence will dictate what options or guidlines you have at your disposal

I can't return it because the warranty is over, and i'm skeptical the distributor willing to help for an old card like this.
This my old card, i used to run internet cafe back in 2014. I buy it brand new, sealed, and used to work with the included cd in box.
and if i remember correctly I bought it from a reputable distributor too, not just from a random international seller.

=========================

This is exactly the same bios as mine
https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/138897/138897

i backup my bios and compare the md5 and it's match. Looks like not just me who got this product.

Eh, there are no notifications when using the @ symbol anymore i noticed.

Fake 520? Just use it as a test board for troubleshooting video issues.

It's Antiquated

Is there a white sticker on the card. Take pictures of the gpu die and stickers and post them here

I am sure the white sticker in this link is identical with mine (except serial number). It has the same date manufactured too, april 2013.
https://ecs7.tokopedia.net/img/cach...9794_78853341-c1fc-428f-92db-0cb3f8b08f78.jpg

the gpu die has the same part number and country with this link, GT218-325-B1 and taiwan, the rest text is different
https://ae01.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1b3Rt...B1-GT218-300-B1-GT218-301-B1-GT218-300-A3.jpg

also this has an identical hash as my backup bios, backed via gpu-z
https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/138897/138897

I have a board without integrated graphic that i want to build for office production, so this will save some penny.

I'll provide the picture and my backup bios as fast as i can after this if you still need them. Thanks

The latest driver for Tesla architecture (not to be confused with Tesla product line) is 342.01

A screenshot from GPU-Z would be useful...

EDIT:
you can either restore the device ID in BIOS or modify the driver.

I'm not at home currently, i'll provide the screenshot of gpu-z too later.

Yes, that is what i thought too. But i'm clueless about that.
I don't have a problem if must learn about it and solve by myself as long as somebody guide me to the right way, but mind me that i have no coding experience if it complex enough..

you already popped the hood, see what the memory ICs say. Its either one of these, my money's on the OEM version even. I think it will do 120 fps in MInesweeper.

I don't care even if this is 128mb 7400gs, as i stated before.
I just wanted this to work for my non integrated graphic motherboard.

I done some digging. GT218-325-B1 is indeed GeForce 210. Inno3D made one for it. If you already backed up original vBIOS you can try to use this vBIOS. All the best

Please guide me to the correct thread of flashing bios, and your tips along with precautions.

=========EDIT

Instead of flashing bios which is more risky , for me personally (i have many bad experience with blind flash)
If this is a truly gt 210, I prefer to edit the latest driver of 200/300 series to detect 500 series. I believe 342.01 is the last version for 200/300 card.
Can somebody guide me?

Please guide me to the correct thread of flashing bios, and your tips along with precautions.
Back up your vBIOS by two method:

1) using GPU-Z (click the arrow button next to 'BIOS version' number and save to file) or

2) using nvflash (download latest one, extract it, and on the folder itself hold shift and right click and select 'Open command prompt here' and save the vBIOS and type 'nvflash -b backup.rom'. It will create backup.rom file inside the folder and this is your vBIOS backup.

To flash the card you can use this command:

nvflash.exe -4 -5 -6 <name of the vBIOS>.rom

For some other commands visit this thread. is.

My tip: If one version of nvflash dont work try another. Make multiple backup of your original vBIOS and in different location just in case. Quick Google 'nvflash command' for some tips from another forum and also there is video. I hope that helps. Its way past my bedtime and need some sleep. I hope others can help you.

I will do the flash for the last resort, or if there is no way to edit the driver package.
Thank you very much for your tips.

As aforementioned last working driver is 342.01 for legacy GPUs
http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/112593/en-us

Open nv_dispi.inf in a good text editor like Notepad++
Replace 0A65 nine times with 1040
and save as nv_dispi.inf , not as nv_dispi.inf.txt!

To install driver, you must disable driver signatures

bcdedit -set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
bcdedit -set testsigning ON

and reboot your computer

Otherwise open BIOS in your favorite hex editor
The fake device ID on your card is DE 10 40 10
Modified device name should be obvious

Restore device ID to DE 10 65 0A and restore device name. Don't change the file size!

Already tried it. The gpu-z picture use that driver.

Are you certain? Its my understanding that that card requires the ION driver series not the Geforce Driver series.
