It's called The game of life to most it's just living their lives day to day can be inclusive to and full of love/ drama/ anger/...
Can be boring but usually is unpredictable with wife/ kids/ both sides of the family holidays/ birthdays/... not to mention friends we like and don't like

I think mine would be DOTA2. I'm already a good 2300 hours in. Still not entirely bored. Still tons of heroes to explore...

Once Immortal Empires launches my TWWH experience will only be from TWWH3 so yes right now it is not technically correct but give it 2 months and all I am saying is true. 500+ settlements is huge. This will basically be Total War Empire in the Warhammer Fantasy Universe.

Yes it's actually "free to play" but in order to unlock "achievements" you must do micro mega transactions all the time!

I'd get bored with just one game, but I think I could compromise on three games:

1 Crosscode - a crossover between the shooting in Star Control 2 with all the same goofy cast-members, combined with the puzzles and over world Zelda 3.

2 Master of Orion - this is my crack as far as turn-based strategy goes.. No other one bothers with a variable tech tree each time you run a game, and the stock races have enough viability to make victory possible in the right c conditions (except Silicoids, who need a tiny universe to win)

3 Slither.io. - just way too addicting with mouse it' my single multiplayer distraction these days. been playing for a decade now, whenever my mind is bored, but don't have enough time for MOO! Being a web game means you can play it anywhere (and I also have it on my phone, for whenever I'm pc-free)

Eh, I dunno. It's clearly in a beta-like state. Maybe wait until the 2.0 release, or at least a significant QoL (see what I did there? ) patch.

TWWH series. It is my Kryptonite. I read plenty of Fantasy novels as a kid, so using a Dragon's breath to mow down a row of Archers is right up my alley. Now there is Immortal Empires coming with something ridiculous like 250+ factions with a Map that could easily go into 500+ turns to have Total domination. Did I mention it's fun and cerebral at the same time?

Me too. If Warhammer III delivers and makes Immortal Empires work and add a bunch more DLCs in the years to come, like Nagash and Dogs of War. Then even if you play each lord one time and finish the Short Campaign victory conditions it will take you at least 100 turns. So we are talking about thousands on hours of gameplay.
The only thing better would be a Warhammer 40k Total War

I didn't want to steer the answers anywhere, that's why I kept mum. I don't know what that game would be for me, I've spent over 500 hours playing various versions of HoMM and over 2.5K hours playing CSG0 but that's a multiplayer game which kinda sorta doesn't fit the description because I implied a game which would work forever and this game solely depends on whether Valve servers are up and running, the Internet as well and people are still playing it - too many conditions. In the past it could find LAN servers without logging into your Steam account but nowadays it doesn't work.

What I really appreciate about TWWH is that every time I started to get sated they would release DLC or some Mod would become available to bring me right back. I saw the Official Map for Immortal Empires and will enjoy using the Recruit Defeated Legendary Lords Mod to use the the entire Wood Elves Lord pack to rule the Warhammer World. You absolutely right though the variety in the game is stellar (Actually makes Vanilla TW a little boring) as each faction is so different in terms of Gameplay.

TESV Skyrim, my playtime on LE/SE/SE-AE on steam speak for it, around 2447hrs (1290 SE/SE-AE and 1157 LE ) and also non official build hours, due to crashes on STEAM in 2011 , is round 4200hrs
(hilarious that a legit copy did crash but a cr@cked one did not ... )

Probably a game of the standard of Days Gone with some world building thrown in, a much bigger map, the ability to swim, sail vessels and cook a decent breakfast.
