Just FYI, in case you encounter missing images here.

For some reason they pushed a weird filter update that breaks images on half the site, especially here in the forums.

Report it to them if you can, so it gets fixed soon. Until then, no other option than to disable adblock

PiHole is better than adblockers anyway!

Dunno, I use the integrated in Opera Browser... do not burden myself more.

No problems here with uBlock Origin so just another reason not to use shitty AdBlock/AdBlock Plus

Using adblock on chrome and no problems so far

Yep, just manually updated filter list and avatars&emojis are gone...

Ad blocker Ultimate on firefox works ( and manually updated ).
and of course i have it Disabled for this site)

Your plugin might not have updated its filter list yet
It seems that the culprit is the URL mismatch between the site and image source.
On forums it's "techpowerup.com" and images are linked to "www.techpowerup.com". I've added a custom filter exception for www and all images are back to normal.

Not blocking ads here anyhow...

TPUs always on my whitelist anyway since the ads aren't annoying and I want to support the site.

I have disabled Adblock/Ghostery on TPU a long time ago...

Even if that's fractions of pennies for Wizzard and his team, they deserve them for providing good quality content and services.

It's fine to use adblocking for -most- of the web, since many websites are just abusing ads to the max, but here it's not the case. The ads, even when they exist, are to the point and actually providing nice hints on what's new in tech.

If you want to vote and see who has this problem, I have a poll on another page:

TPU is one of the only sites that figured out what non-intrusive and relevant ads are. I have it whitelisted on uBlock Origin.

So no, I haven't been having this issue.

I use the built-in Opera ad blocker, but now I've whitelisted TPU and the problem has been fixed.

Must of been overnight or this morning (UK time) as it was working fine last night and I noticed the image thing this evening though I've whitelisted TPU on both ghostery and adblock for FF now anyway.

OT: @W1zzard one thing I have personally noticed from browsing TPU is that for some reason when I have a TPU tab open in FF it always uses 10% CPU power, I've confirmed this by only using 1 tab and also leaving TPU and going to a different site and the CPU usage goes down. Interestingly enough this doesn't happen with Chrome or Edge so I know it's nothing untoward though it's constant and only with TPU I have this issue, not sure if that's something you've come across before but thought it might be worth a mention. Oh and I'm using a temp machine as well which is a q9450 so ya'nooooo that's probably like 2-3% of a modern CPU and I probably wouldn't have even noticed if that was the case

any specific url? forums or main site?
Very good question I didnt think to check this when I noticed the CPU usage, it seems to be only limited to the forum home page 0% usage on the TPU home page and 0% CPU in an actual thread but a constant 10-12% on the forum home page, so maybe some script that's running on the https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/ page

mabye farefox might have somethin odd?

If you don't use ublock origin over adblock you are a danged fool anyway.

ublock origin has worked flawless for me for many years now.

I switched from Adblock lus to ublock ... it does the same thing as we discussed with many links.
