Get a Rampage Formula. Best X48 board there is. I think the decision between DFI and Asus depends on what RAM you are using.

im going to use http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231184

i want a dfi. not a asus this time. i got nothing against asus i just want a different board. i dont like gigabyte much as they have no boards with 90degree sata connectors and i dont like there bios at all.

the Light version (LT) has 8 phase, Dark version (DK) has 6 phase.

meaning what lol?

So LT (green) is better than dk (orange)?

I know that the Rampage loves Gskill RAM! That is some good lookin' suff!:toast:

the Light version (LT) is 8 phase, 6 Layers, Capacitors better placed.
Dark version (DK) is 6 phase, 4 Layers, Capacitors placed around CPU.

well it doesnt seem to like transend axe ram...?

how much is the rampage x48?

It love my Transcend RAM! I just did a bench with four sticks at around 1250mhz!

As price goes, it's about $289. Idk, the Rampage extreme is going to be out soon, I wonder if there will be a price drop?

transcend works fine on DFI boards.

Im also considering going with ddr3 since if i go nehalm eventually it will be ddr3..

anyway would it be worth it?

I know the UT has more options on the board that LT and DK. The LT has more options on the board than the DK. And the DK has the least of all of them. You'd have to compare all the boards features with one another.

ok so its like this then

UT > LT > DK
(DDR3) (DDR2) (DDR2)

hey freak its board not bored and the LT is like calvary said the higher end board with bettwe PWM

UT > LT > DK
(DDR3) (DDR2) (DDR2)

Not really. All of the boards come with DDR2 options but not all of them have a DDR3 option. That is what the T2R (ddr2) or T3R (ddr3) denotes.

The UT,LT,DK are basically the amount of extras that come with it, extra LAN cards, extra raid controllers, and extra cooling.

The best board out there? IMO it is a DFI board. p48 or x48

I thought the same thing until i got my P45 Asus. :D 3.8GHz stable baby! :pimp:

I went from RAID setup on an ICH7 with a 975X to my new mobo with ICH10 and P45 chipset. I moved the HDD's across, enabled raid in the bios and voila, it booted fine! So i would say you'll be fine provided that raid setup was configured on an intel SB that is the same or older than the new SB.

i cant even find the DFI LANPARTY UT X48-T2R,

i can find

DFI LANPARTY DK X48-T2RS
DFI LANPARTY LT X48-T2R

ok, so my total looks like its going to be about $410.

My funds only consist of 318. :( time to start saving

Ive got an LT x38 not being used.

is the bios hard to use?

Not so much no. There are a LOT of overclocking options though. But your gonna find that on all the DFI P35/45/x38/x48 boards.

hmm, im not so sure i want to go with one now.

Its your call man. :)

Here is an everest benchmark with my x38 board and my current RAM.
