Your CPU does all the work when it comes to physics, environment, and background processing. A 1.9 GHz Sempron is like a 1.4 litre 4 cylinder engine.
Getting a SuperSpecialAwesome graphics card wont help if you want to run Crysis.
Wait until you have a new motherboard (AM3, by the looks of it) and a much, much better CPU, then get yourself a 4870 x2!!
Currently, you'd be wasting your money.

It's like buying the best hardware you can with your money and turning around and putting it into a case you've garbage picked. (Something I've done by the way)

mmm Analogies..

Sempron is going to bottleneck you, I suggest you try and return your processor in favor of a Athlon 64 X2.

currently Newegg has a couple of deals.

* AMD Athlon X2 5000+ BE with Thermaltake SopranoRS Case $82, $67 with Promotional Code if active still (CPU6915) with free shipping.

* AMD Athlon X2 6000+ $125, $85 with Newsletter Coupon if still active (EMCAGBABC) with free shipping.

for a video card I suggest a 8800GS 384 or 9600GSO 384. anybody who says go out and purchase a 8800GT, 8800GTS, HD 3870X2 is an idiot with the condition your system is in.

If I were him I would go with the blackie, it's a way better deal if he's an overclocker.

Better rain on that now then later. He's trying to put a OMFGraphics card in a POSystem. If he OC's anything his motherboard will end up looking like a chalkboard. He needs something fast OOB, the simpler the better. A 5000-6000+ will suit him fine. Atleast it'll upgrade the POS's status

Yes, sounds much better. All you really need is a 550~600W PSU.

Yup, bta is right. 700+ seems like it may be a bit excessive for you. Don't go cheap on the psu. Buy a good brand, something from Corsair, Tagan, Silverstone, PC power and cooling.

lol is this a joke? Just asking.

If you want the fastest card now, go for the GeForce 9800 GX2. If you can wait, wait for HD4870 X2...make note of that.

GTX 280 and 260 are both on newegg right now. I just posted a topic on it...

I'd wait until next week when the Radeon 4000 series comes out. Looking at benchies, the 4870 seems to outperform the gtx 280 in crysis. If it's true, it's really REALLY bad for nvidia.

Hi guys, I'm one of the lazy guys out there. I know this may be wired to everyone here. I recently purchased cheap AMD Sempron CPU 1100@1.9 :toast: addition to that I bought as well Cheapest motherboard I could find in my local Market with Strange name "Elite Group motherboard" I even can't read the model name on it I think it's "MCP61S".

addition to that I have pair of DDr2 2gb Kingston Hyper memory@1066mhz I purchased in past guessing max speed can reached 800mhz on that motherboard.

Now in last but not the end, I'm seeking to slap on it The most Powerful High end card out there, I'm going btw new Motherboard+CPU after few months.

any advice....

elite group is ECS motherboards - super d0op3r budget boards. have one myself :D

if im correct black editions come with the multiplier option - deffinately go for the BE, and if im right itll only be a tiny bit more expensive.
