that puts your ram a good smidge over 1066 try 2.2v

OK.. 2.2v didn't help at all WTF am I doing wrong? Maybe i need a bios update? And if so I have Downloaded the newest bios from ASUS but i dont have a usb flash drive And i havent found any flash program to flash it from windows. Any suggestions on that?
Or should I just stick with the 5:8 ratio @ 1066 and stop trying? It seems to be pretty fast so far...

EDIT: Its hotter than hell im my house but my feet are like ice...

I dont know if a 1:1 ratio is all that much better anyways. I dont care if mine is 12:8 or 32:16.


Cant you update the BIOS in windows with Asus Update? If your going to update your bios, use the one from Ketxxx's XtremeSystems thread. You can find a link in the Ketxxx&Tiger's thread here.

ok here's what i have so far and it seems to be the fastest yet... i can still push it further though

Multi: 11
FSB: 360
FSB Strap: AUTO
DRam Frequency: 1066mhz (at leat thats what its set @ in the bios, cpu-z says 532mhz?!)

Remember this E5200 is stock @2.5ghz/FSB@800mhz:shadedshu This will be my 24/7 OC @3.6ghz with a FSB@1331mhz I think ive done pretty good so far My temps are idle @ 33c on both cores and 46c on full load, not too shabby on air. This Tuniq Tower is earning its keep now... heh

Upon quickly glancing through your thread. That seems to be your best bet with settings. Intel chips love bandwith! So if you can get your FSB higher with a 5:6 or a 4:5 divider, IMO that would be your best bet.

EDIT:
Try these settings out:
FSB Strap:333
Dram Frequency:800

That should give a 5:6 divider.

Also regarding this:
"(at leat thats what its set @ in the bios, cpu-z says 532mhz?!)" That is normal, ddr2 will report its nominal clock rate, double it and you get its effective rate. In this case it would be 1066.

set the pll to the one in my pic hit "get FSB" st the top slider to the FSB you want it will say the selected speed under "select FSB/DDR/PCI-E/PCI"

OK here is the Highest possible clock I've yet to get and still be stable...

Right now im running 24/7 @3.76ghz/FSB@1360mhz DDR2 1028 2:3 ratio

For that 4.2 clock i used the same settings im using now cept i changed the multi from 11x to 12.5x FSB@340 DDR2 Frequency to 1028 and the voltages from 1.35 to 1.52v... i wish there was a way to OC this E5200 past 4ghz and still stay around 1.3v. This CPU WILL NOT post @4ghz or higher w/o the voltages being 1.5 or higher.

What benches are you running to test stability? Orthos, Prime95? WPrime is my fav.

Hows your Wprime scores? Are the mem ratio's helping/hurting? Just curious if you have noticed a visible difference with the ratio and benching stats.

well the scores are higher but, truthfully the ratio really hasn't helped alot.. but every little bit counts. @ a 2:3 ratio my mem frequency dropped from 1066 to 1028. Sorry i never took any screenies of wPrime yet but i will post some in the wPrime thread for ya... some before and after shots.

I built this rig a week ago and all I've done since is tweaking,OCing,benching and stability tests. Now that I have 2 different profiles saved (1 is my 24/7 oc and 2 is my 4.2 benhing oc) and both are stable, I think Im going to do some gaming tonight and take it easy from all the benches Ive been running. Ive yet to play ANY game on this new 4850(w/aftermarket cooling), all Ive done is made sure all my games were installed and all my profiles were correct.

Hmmm, Im using the 1306m and it seems to be very stable. when I used the regular version of 1506 I could boot windows at 4.16ghz but I could not run any versions of 3DMark (05 and 06)
I would get through the first test and as soon as the second would load I would get a BSOD. But im using the 1306m and I can get higher clocks/fsb and bench at that. Weird eh? Maybe Ill give the modded 1506 a try and see if I have the same problems like before.
