0 on either of my systems. On my Pascal system I switched to DX12 a while back because Vulkan was causing issues.

Which drivers are you on? I'm on the 441.34 hotfix. I'll install the newest 441.41 and test with that. DX12 here also.

I should update drivers from 441.12 but it runs it reasonably well enough averaging about 1 crash every 10 hours gameplay. I have a feeling there's more RDR2 optimized drivers to come, steam release in a few days after all.

Well I got the RDR2 update and I got the driver update and man it runs really well I must say. Played 2 hours last night and didn't have any stutter.

Yeah, it's been pretty good on both my setups since launch though my configurations don't seem to be similar to the ones that had the most issues. I do find it interesting that my 3900X/Titan XP system seems to do better in DX12 and my 9900K/2080 ti system does better in Vulkan. I have noticed slightly better performance on my Pascal system with the last patch or 2 though or at least more consistent performance.

I'm just dipping my toe in a bit at a time having played through most of it on PS4. I'm still genuinely enjoying for a 2nd time so far, I can't wait to get out of the snow though....

The biggest thing for me was enabling async. I have been playing for about 2.5 weeks and maybe 25 hours or so and have that single crash.

Is it bad I named my horse Roach?

I just focused in on the main missions, it still took me 4 weeks.

Really depends on what you like. The story was definitely better with RDR2. However, GTA V's missions seemed a lot more fun than RDR2's missions. RDR2 has a lot of character customization which GTA V was missing, the character develops as you play the game, which in some ways feels more like an RPG, similar to how CJ stats and appearance can be customized in San Andreas. Also RDR2 has a lot of shoot outs like Max Payne 3, particularly in the second half of the game, these shootouts unfortunately get a bit repetitive. I also thought RDR2 was way too easy. I really enjoyed the scenery, the level design, the characters, and the plot. However some of the missions are essentially 10 minutes of horseback riding to do 10 minutes of shooting and then 10 minutes of riding back, this is more noticable in that second half of the game.

RDR2 has probably the best character arc of any recent R* game, so yeah it's good. It's it better than GTA 5? It's like apples and oranges, can't compare them really.

Can't really compare them no, other than to say which one you like best. For me it's still GTA5 overall (I think).

But there is something special about RDR2. Maybe it's the calm and quietness, or the sounds of nature surrounding you, or the beatuiful scenery. There's certainly something to be said for just hopping onto your horse and setting off in any direction without any purpose, just taking things as they come – and watching the scenery as you ride along.

There also the technical aspect; I have never played a game with this kind of view distance, it's absolutely crazy. I'm not just taking about the distance but also the "persistance" if you will of world objects. Everything is just there; there's no pop-in. Quite astonishing really, and a joy to play.

Anyone have 2 monitors that plays this? My main screen is an ultra wide but sometimes I use a USB screen if I want to have some sports on or something. However with rdr2, it will load on the USB screen no matter what. My UW monitor is set as primary.

Was there an update recently? I have strange things happening now. I'm getting "jerkyness" in the framerates even though I'm above my hertz (vsynced). As if the fps was below the refresh rate. Weird!
I'll have to switch to DX12 again and see if that helps.
