SLI 9600GT beat HD3870X2??NO WAY!!???

What do you guys think?too good to be true??I think Nvidia might have actually got the SLI technology scaling right this time.
IF it was true, then the SLI 9600GT is so much cheaper than the 3870X2, for similar performance.
2 X $180 = $360 for the 9600GTs
1 X $450 for the 3870X2

Those are both Nvidia games, not ATI based, but yes, the 9600 is a good card.

and runs cooler and uses less power that the 8800s, Sounds like its gonna be a good year.

And they should overclock nicely also, it does not surprise me at all, they can get pretty close in some benches th the 8800GT on single card so with two this is quite possible mefinks.

With Bioshock, NVidia just brought out some tweaks in their forceware drivers to enhance playability/performance, to be fair, ATi could have done the same, they did it for Crysis after all.

it seem quite funny to me that the 9600's are right on par of where the next midrange should be, but the 9800gtx seems to be only a hair faster than it lol. I think nv should just focus on getting the gx2 out and leave the 9800gtx as a failed attempt at a revamp.

but I dunno, maybe the 9800gtx is exactly the break ati needs to get back in the game, they've been dormant for far too long imo.

only thing is that if you dont have an sli board a pair of 9600GTs does you no good while a 3870X2 works flawlessly

the results of 3D6 from the X2 using a QX9650 are way to low.
They used 780i MB which is more suited for SLI.
3D06 is more then just final scores. We need to see 2.0, 3.0 and cpu scores as well.

lower end nvidia cards always scale better anyway it would seem, or at extreme res.

imo 8800GT's dont scale perfectly at 1680x150 cos 1 is enough power at that res, go for 2560x1600 + 4xAA and 8xAF and the scaling efficiency is probably better.

90% of the games are NVIDIA friendly I am sure if it was around the other way it would be ATI rocks.

For the price you pay for the 9600 is good bang for ur $$$ at the end of the day it shows us ATI and NVIDIA just playing with us, they want to empty our wallets quicker. I dont ever remember so many VIDEO cards models getting spat out in such a short time.

The thing is I just want a VIDEO card that does it's job and can run the games not intrested in a fixed card races.
