TPU just dropped off for about 5 minutes :/
Other sites opened swiftly so not on my end.
 
Should of said dropped off for a few minutes not 5.

i have a ryzen 9 7900x with corsair h100i platinum 240mm chamber is 20 degrees cpu idle 50 degrees gaming 75 benmark 10 seconds 95 degrees is a corsair icue h150i elite capellix xt 360mm will it hit better temps or another aio

This is still happening.
It's almost like there are two different systems being used - captcha, and the other one that just blocks you for ages.

I open quite a few pages, for example when comparing CPUs in the CPU database. I then see that some tabs that I have opened are requesting completion of a captcha. Even completing the captcha doesnt help, because presumably hitting the captcha multiple times just blocks you, before you can even try it.

I think the captcha should be decoupled from whatever the timeout/block is, so that completing any captcha will "unrestrict" you.

No, because I do always get unblocked after a while (sometimes 30 mins or more). Just a bit annoying that it happens in the first place.

I wonder if you could just run a cached DB for public access separate from the main DB server and just have things like GPU-Z or your other internal tools utilize main.

It will remember that you got blocked and will block you for longer and longer time, so email me at some point, I'll be gentle

Hmm .. maybe I could change it so that showing the captcha doesn't count as "failed attempt"

edit: this has been completed. Previously you could load the captcha page 10 times (in 10 minutes) before it blocked you, now it's 50

The issue is primarily with scraping/security, not server load. We're utilizing caching at all levels of the stack

Will this prevent blocks in the future? I was thinking it was just for one occasion.

Your IP will change over time due to your ISP. If you use any sort of VPN software, it will be wildly different every request. There is therefore no benefit to whitelisting it, and significant security risks (if a scraper gets allocated your IP that was whitelisted). So there's no chance Wizz is going to do this.

I'm sure you'll survive the exponential backoff algorithm. Millions do every day.
 
It seems my IP address is being blocked since my first post (or 2) yesterday evening. My account is new but verified via email. I get no response at all from the TPU server. Had to use my phone with cell connection to post in the Forums today. It hasn’t been 24 hours yet so hopefully it self-resolves soon.

Hi,
I used the source link to their site and nothing was blocked :/
Only difference I noticed was the top orange post reply box was on the left end instead of the right end like all other news.. articles :/
