Imagine they call "Windows 1 Remake" like they do with games? :D

I won't be upgrading right away, I'll wait at least 6 months or even longer if there's not much difference with gaming vs windows 11.

If my hardware officially supports it!
TPM 3.0? nohave... :banghead:

I haven't even tried Win11 yet, so I'm certainly not ready for Win12.

Vista's biggest problem was MS's unrealistic minimum required RAM (512MB). I ran Vista 32bit with 2GB of RAM for a while without issue. It was even better after I put 4GB in the system.

(Favorite number is 42). :)
Disagree, the biggest issue with vista was MS's new driver requirements and the lack of enforcement allowing manufacturers to repackage XP drivers that caused instability.

Vista was very pretty, and by sp1 it was fine, but launch vista suffered from the same issue as windows ME, with similar results.

What do you mean by that?

l’m looking forward to Windows 13 as 13 is one of my favourite numbers.

Nothing better than the number of change, got such a rap over the years haha.

I'd rather call it Windows 24 if it's being released on 2024.

I want grey theme in addition to dark and light. with file explorer background being greyish.
like this color:
c:\ ------- d:\ ------- e:\

Oh No not again I've only just got use't to W10, I've W11 on my lappy and intel rigg and I'm like a chicken on crack who's lost its head, it took me 3 days just to find the NVidia control Pannel and delete.

Guys haven't you been reading about this news. Next will be called macdows. Mac and Microsoft has been in a collaborative efforts to make it all better. They call it macdows as said before.

Well more seriously. I just wish for a upgraded windows 7. Windows 7 still stands as the best windows in my opinion. It's was deffently the windows I liked the most. So I don't know about windows 12. I haven't even tried windows 11 yet.

This time around we need triangular windows so that a few versions after that MS will be able to sell rounded rectangular windows as new release again. :shadedshu:

I think is time now for Windows 12.

What features would you want to see?
DirectX 13 with unlimited detail technology?
Improved DirectStorage, so fast PCIe SSDs are properly utilised?
Fixed scaling with high-DPI monitors like 8K?

windows 12 release date - Google Search

win 11 and dx12 hasn't even had a single directstorage game yet. im guessing you made this topic to make a joke... but if you serious. lol

Windows 12 should be a decent release according to the typical M$ cadence going back to at least Windows 95. Every other major release is not so good for at least the first year and gradually gets better until boom a new major release comes out that fixes everything or nearly everything.

IMO, both the RAM requirements and the driver issues made Vista a train wreck initially. It certainly got a LOT better with SP1. The 64bit version was pretty darn good if you threw at least 4 GB of RAM at it. At that time, 4 GB was a lot of RAM!

I have zero nostalgia for Windows ME. To me, it was horrible any way you sliced it. I remember Windows 98SE being the breath of life Windows 98 needed because 98 was so BAD. Microsoft then went backwards with ME, maybe not 98 initial release bad, but terrible anyway. I spent many hours downgrading ME users to 98SE, right up until Windows XP launched. XP changed everything. I can remember the first BETA release, it was already 10 times better than any consumer Windows OS before that time.

Windows 11 is such a crap. Maybe the worst Windows since Vista and 8 which both had disappointing performance. One was with heavy system requirements, while the other lacked key features like the Start.

Windows 11 is no different - it doesn't run officially on most CPUs that are currently in the world, and lacks features - small icons in the Taskbar, clock with seconds in the time/date window in bottom right corner... and many more.

It is a shitshow. Windows 11 is a shitshow.

Whining over a new windows version will never end......

Whining over a new windows version will never end......

But with every next version it becomes ever more unpleasant and difficult for use. Windows 11 is like a passive genocide over the users.

I will be rolling back to Windows 10 on my main system.

DX versions or Direct Storage are not dependent on a new OS, they will come to W11 for sure

If Windows 12 is 'Endgame'

Then Windows Vista must have been 'Age Of Ultron'....nearly destroyed by their own creation

Not it isn't. It's actually kick-ass. I will never go back to Windows 10. I'd sooner(and eagerly) go back to Windows 7. People claiming that Windows 11 is "crap" haven't taken the time to try it out to any great degree. And just an FYI, Vista was great after SP1 and perfect after SP2. You're right about 8/8.1 though, hot steamy moose muffins.

No, it isn't. Widely popular? No. But a "shitshow" it is not. Of course, I'm talking about my highly customized version of 11. I never run Windows in it's default config(and never will), but that is the same as Windows 10 and even 7. I actively(and forcefully) remove all of microsoft's bloatware/fluff/garbage they add in.

I'll check it out.

Lately I've been playing with stripped down custom builds. It will be interesting to see what comes out.
