X1900gt Unlock Bios Found!!!

woo thanks htkm1, I gave up on overclocking cause it wasetn working for me... overclocker would just bump my volt ajustment down when I entered or exited a game.

Here, another forum member by the name of Jean has unlocked his X1900GT:

Some results he sent me done with an overclocked Pentium D930 oc to 3.9GHz.
The GB_PIPE_SELECT is 0x3FE4, and is an ENG SAMPLE core, same as mine.

This is by far the third successful unlock, and I think Jean mentioned that his card was a Sapphire which he bought off of eBay.

it seems to boil down to the 0x3FE4 pipeline or maybe the eng. sample core?

please actually read the thread, the last 5-10 or so pages ar littered with "will this unlock" "here is my bios, modify it" etc..
I like helping people with computer problems/questions and getting help when I am stuck, but I really get Pissed of (like a crocodile wrestled to the ground by steve irwin (rip) having his thumb stuck up your butthole) when people ask the same questions again and again because they either didnt bother to read the posts, used wrong keywords in search or comes freshly from google (since if you search for "unlock x1900gt", you get alot of the posts (some mine) from this thread)
there are still those who start new threads asking a question that has been answered prob. on every 5th page of this thread! shadedshu trt740 to name 1...)

lets try to keep this forum as it should be, THE best source for Graphic card (ati especially) discussion/modifying/support . as we have people here that have better, clearer answers to problems than ANY support techie. (much prob. because this isn't a big power/money hungry corporation nly caring about revenue)

The new 256mb X1900XT cards are now stocked, once somebody uploads the new bios we should soon be seeing if the new XT bios will allow the extra pipes.

okay! somebody order this card I ordered a second X1900GT to experiment with crossfire, so I can't afford yet another card.. (if I had the money, I'd prob. buy it, rip the Bios and then return it but having used aprox 650-700 bucks on the GT and A Xpress3200 mobo and a new 600W PSU, leaves me broke )

why would we need a basic un-modable bios?

I Emailed a guy who wrote a review abt the x1900xt 256mb a week ago, and asked him kindly if he would strip the bios for me.. let's hope he's nice guy (if he is able to (legal issues or something))

I bought another X1900GT to explore Crossfire potential, and currently only a few games work, but I still think it's worth it
*makes me feel kinda like a hw-techie from some profiled review/tweak site *
point being: be a big boy and buy it yourself instead of asking somebody to do it for you
I would had I not spent all my money on a new mobo, psu, and the GT (ca 700$) I would have bought one myself!

Hi, I got my x1900gt. unfortunately it is 0x6E4B.

My question is what are the recommended temperatures on this?

When I run the 3D view in ATItool the temperature is running up to 82C.
Can I still overclock it?
Atm it's stockcooling.

I got a vf-900cu to use, that should lower the temps a little?
Is it possible to run that fan on temperature or do I have to use the fanmate?

you should get an aftermarket cooler if you want to do any real overclock, theses cards run hot... dotn advise to overclock on stock cooling you can turn up the fan speed with overclocker.exe

whalle: just installed the VF-900CU myself, and you can't control the fan from say ATi Tool, since the fan soesnt draw power from the Card, but from a normal 3 pin fan outlet, so if you can control cpu fans, or something yes, but you will have to manually change speeds, so you're better off with the fanmate!

okey, thanks. Maybe its possible to connect it to the card with some modification, but why risk it? I guess I'll have to go for the fanmate then.

How is the cooling and noise from it compared to stock?

well, idle dropped around 10 degrees celsius(on low), and sound dropped from "Fighterjet-taking-off@ 5 ft distance" to what a nice summer breeze (minus raffeling leaves)

Well, I have gotten hold of a fellow norwegican who will backup and send me a x1900XT 256 bios ASAP as he gets it sometime next week. I will ofcourse upload the bios here so you all can try it out (I won't try it yet, since I'm experimenting with the crossfire possibility, but if it works, i might but not sure the crossfirre will work then.. )

Is there any chance to unlock the pipes with bios from X1900XT (256MB), if in AtiTool is written this 0x6E4B. I have written that this symbols mean unlockable, but so far is there anybody tested with this bios?
