Make sure you use DDU and disable automatic driver update before. (or just unplug for this test).
Just tried it again to make sure I'm not losing my mind, but it is repeatable with 2023.
Yeah sure I always using DDU and automatic driver update is also always disable.......I am going to try now first The Last Of Us and Strange Brigade to see if that works fine with the Rebar ON....will let you know shortly....
Update...It's just strange maybe it's coincidence but seems like that newer games and those with DX12 working fine all of those games that I played now The Last Of Us,Strange Brigade,A plague Tale Requiem all of them working good......

ReBar Update: Ok So I rollback drivers on 22.11.2. as @ZOX suggested and MIRACLE happens now every game and benchmark works properly with the Rebar ON....what I also found interesting is that with this 22.11.2 drivers MSI afterburner doesn't work properly if you try to apply OC or any kind of changes it will not reflect in the Radeon Settings and your Gpu will stay with the settings that you apply only in Radeon Settings/Performance so maybe the issue could be also that but I doubt as I always tried before with the stock clock and it was the same.....so all in all Rebar works just fine with 22.11.2

It is a personal choice, of course, but Radeon settings + MPT = win ...,
I'll send a bug report for this and it would be smart if others do so.
We need to put a small pressure on AMD driver team :)

MPT and RBE do not work with 6000 series cards at least that's my case with this ver. as I could not apply any changes in MPT like I did before with 5000 series cards.....honestly at the end I preferred even to flash my bios on card when I am sure that works correctly after all testings.....

Yes, but 6000 series is BIOS locked, no messing with that.
MPT is the only way to change power/voltage/clock limits...
I've undervolted my 6600 to 1075mV and happily running 2,7+GHz ...

Well I will try to play more with MPT later still didn't have time I know that I read that bios is locked also I did tried MPT once but it didn't applied well maybe I have some older ver. will see.....anyway I am happy with those clocks that I OC via Radeon Settings card is boosting up to the 2750Mhz usually hanging around 2600-2670 also undervolted 1040Mv but it seems that can take more power when is needed...

It won't work since address space is needed for other devices.
Only way to see if vanilla 4g works or not is by viewing memory space in device manager.
But, for now, can you run timespy or unigine to see changes?

Edit:
Also check if rebar option is enabled in Radeon settings...
Ok I check the original latest 4801 bios for my Asus Sabertooth and seems that Above 4g decoding do not exist there so it's only added later on modded bios version that I have installed so this is probably the reason why when I turn on above 4g Decoding do not working properly.....Well anyway Rebar working just fine with 1gb size so its not a big deal.....

I’m going to have to look into rebar and how I can get it on my rampage 4 to use with my 7900XTX!

Also I ran out of my Grizzly Liquid Metal because some spewed out unfortunately when I first used it and didn’t realize how easily it dispensed!

So I ordered 2 syringes of the extreme version which is even better than original I used. Anyway should be here Monday through Amazon (quickest way I can get it). Pretty excited after using it on gpu to see how much cooler I can get the 1680! Gpu ran to 110 degrees hotspot in only few minutes and throttled now after extended session only gets to 92 or so at most.

It should work fine as long as the Rebar size is 1024Mb but if you managed to get it above the 4g let us know here.....

Well, you can help...

I'm not home till wednesday and then only for one day, but next week I'll get to play more.

Above 4G is working on at least one board (Supermicro) so it is a BIOS issue.
Last reply says to disable all CSM stuff (which I did) but that is not the problem since I removed all CSM modules from BIOS.

Large memory works correctly for some devices, but GPU is causing problem.
Hopefully it can be fixed with a patch.
Anyway, enable Above 4G, reboot remotly (teamviewer, rustdesk or sim.) and enable some rebar size.
Then take linux kernel log to help developer to find a solution...

No, that option was available in earlier revision or something, since modules do not give menu options...

I got my Liquid Metal today ! I ran stress test with regular paste and took screenshot with current settings and will do the same after using Liquid Metal hopefully get significantly lower temperatures!

BEHOLD. I had all settings the same except on the newer run I actually had voltage up a tick or two so even better than it appears...also I notice it ran faster and got better results due to the cpu being cooler I'd imagine! So, even though I did get some on my board (messy stuff) I managed to clean it off (was only drop or two) enough not to fry anything on my poor old Rampage black lol.

ALL HAIL! The master speaketh!!
Lol. I am the master of this thread, short of that, I’m a slave to life like all of us. However, the temps are much improved and I managed 4.7 ghz stable for same 4 gb memory and highest temp was 85 with almost 1.4 volts.

So I’ll play around with settings and speeds and come up with best combo I can!

Capture518.jpg

However with Micron ddr3 memory with tight internal timings and 1680v2 despite having better temps etc so far 4.7 is about the ceiling and even that if I stress with all of my 16 gb of memory vs just 4 gb it gets a bit hotter and sometimes flakes out. So minus sub ambient temps and hardcore cooling with my watercooling setup I'm definitely nearing where it will be stable and be usable for long term.

I'll tweak it a bit and perhaps put my other memory in which is hynix I believe and has looser timings and bit tougher to get bandwidth of the micron but whole system runs cooler and is easier to get stable. The memory controller being pushed with decent mhz and tight timings definitely drags the OC down a bit and makes for a challenge.

Still, enjoying tweaking this platform to it's fullest for 24/7 and it's given me 11 years total so far so quite happy with it still.

I was totally joking. No worries!
As was I lol. Funny thing is my fans were not plugged in for that first comparison run! Also need fans for case open side atm and all the fans minus like 2 are on rads or heat sinks….think I need a few to move air through case and vent the heat generated by cpu/gpu out.

The most recent Core i3, i3-13100, has surpassed stock E5-1680V2 in performance. 4-core i3-13100F scores 1255 CB points in Cinebench R15, while 8-core E5-1680V2 scores only 1209 points. i3-13100 scores 3368 points in R20, while stock 10-core E5-2690V2 scores 3080. That's 10 years of CPU progress for you!

Of course it's better, but that numbers aren't really that impressive.

i3 has all-core turbo of 4.5, 1680v2 has 3.0: 3x16=48, 4.5x8=36, so it has cca 30% higher IPC. Nowhere near double as one might assume on first glance...
AVX2 is heavy burden for X79.

It does that by consuming 30% less power which is nice, but again - 120W vs 90W.

I'd always take more slower cores than few fast ones, especially 4c/8t config in 2023...

I rolled with the 1680v2 for quite some time on my aged Rampage IV. Depending on the OC settings, I would get around 1700 on CB R15. The secret sauce, so to speak, is running faster Memory. It actually handled an RTX 3080ti somewhat decently and would have been totally fine if I was playing at 4k or 1440p. The 1680v2 doesn't really come to life unless you're overclocking along with faster RAM.

This is true. I believe I get 1800+ on cb r15. Overclocking from 3.0 to 4.6 plus good memory O.C. Squeezes a lot more out of X79.

If I remember correctly, on 3930k changing one speed grade on RAM (with same timings) equals 100MHz core clock uplift as CB scores go.
Cinema 4D is my primary modelling program and I'm using it from ver 9 so it was funny to see how people changed opinion whether it favors Intel or AMD especially since it always used Intel compilers and in newer versions Intels Embree ...
As a side note, I've had 12 8GB 1600MHz sticks from Kingston (Fury). Only one of them had problems on higher frequencies, others could hold 10-11-10-1T on 2000MHz.
I've even pushed them to 2400 but with looser timings and all that at 1.55V max ...

Just a little update.....I finaly get NVME drive for my X79 platform I knew that it's going to work as bootable dsk as I have modded bios on it but I was hope that I will be able to get same/high BCLK OC like I always have before.....unfortunately that is not possible the best-stable BCLK OC I managed to get with NVME in PCIe slot is 105 on BUS and before I was fully stable on 115 that in reality get me around 10% better performance without NVME drive on my Xeon/2697 V2/.....So I believe that I am going to pull out NVME drive and keep it safe with SATA 3 speed but much higher CPU speed.....

I recently rebuild my x79 System with a modded BIOS running just one single Crucial P3 NVME. I got a cheap PCIe x4 IcyBox (working absolutely fantastic btw.) for it and just put it in the related x4 slot. I have a Rampage IV Gene with a 2697v2 together with 32gb RAM. I can overclock to 114,1 BCLK ... everything above is crashing instantly. My 24/7 setting is 113,4 BCLK with + 0,05 v offset. I´ve no issues with the NVME though. Only thing I recognized is a strange GPU behavior with high BCLK. I sometimes get GPU driver timeouts ...

Thats good to hear.....this means that it's possible to get higher BCLK with the NVME drive I guess its's depends of the drive itself or maybe from the adapter who knows.... Well I don't have the problem with the GPU and BCLK/OC and I have 2 GPU's in the RIG one is RX 6700XT(main) and another is Matrox 9140LP that powering my side panels 'tho after certaIn point around 106 on BCLK it will work normally but only as PCIe Gen2 but that does not impact at all performance in benchmarks or games(as long if is it 16x) and It's fully stable at 115.1 BCLK it will work even on higher numbers up to the 116 but it's not 24/7 stable anything above 116 the PC it's not waking up.....

P.S. you have some SOLID OC numbers @Duc996
