Hi people, I have a Sapphire Radeon X800GTO 256MB AGP card, 12 pipelines; I'm pretty sure it could be modded to 16. I'm currently using Catalyst 6.4 drivers.

Anyway, here's my info...

I've attached my BIOS dump as well.

Is it able to be modded? :)
Yes, you are lucky, here is your modified bios. Use atiflash -p 0(zero) -newbios biosfilename.bin

Hello again. Here's ATITool's diagnosis of my chip.

It's a Powercolor X800GTO 256MB 256-Bit, 12 pixel pipelines, default @ 475 core and 450 memory. I'm assuming by the fuse info that I can't flash it, but should I take a picture of the chip just in case?

You can flash it, but it will not unlock the remaining 4 pipes.
You can see if the chip has lasercut....

pipes unlock

I have a sapphire x800 gto agp the same as you Meattosser, I flashed the bios on mine straight away as performance wasnt that good, when i got the 16 pipes and 450/530 clock speeds, my 3dmark 05 score is now 5549, using supplied catalyst 5.8 drivers and the card copes with anything i chuck at it :rockout: I used the following command after booting into floppy :
atiflash -newbios -f -p 0 bios16.bin.

I don't believe that this is the problem but who knows. Remove the solder and see what will happen. Filling the laser cut could cause problems (short circuit to GND for instance) because these bridges are used to supply 3.3V from the motherboard to the core (power managing cirquits).

I've cleaned the solder totally. Now I can't even see the 2 copper dots and laser cutted. Am I permanently screwed? The GPU picture can be found at http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=11268

Are your fuses changed after removing of the solder? (The solder should not connect the big dot in the middle of the bridges with one of them!!!)

The fuses remained the same after removing the solder, still 4 pipelines. I unsoldered it, but not sure whether there's totally no solder left at all. Will check again to make sure.

How to make sure that all the solder are completedly removed? With my rough eye, I don't see any solder connecting any of the dots.

Btw, I would like to clarify that the 2 right hand side dots and the laser cutted were scrapped off/scratched off in one straight line, from where the first dot supposed to be until where the second dot supposed to be (together with the laser cutted in the middle). So, if there's no more dots and laser cutted, how to connect it?

Any suggestions will be much appreciated. Thanks.

12 pipe?

I've got a sapphire x800 GT. I wasn't going to mess with this card too bad, but the thought of getting four more pipes is too tempting. I don't want to do any hard mods, but I want to know if I can get 12 with just a bios flash. (my max OC is 530 core and 560 mem)

Hi guys. Posted here a little while ago. My image of ATI Tool seems to tell me I can't flash my card, but what about the cut on the chip itself? Here's a picture.

Here are the images from ati tool.

Powercolor X800GTO 256MB 256-Bit, 12 pixel pipelines, default @ 475 core and 450 memory. Bought this from Newegg.

A reply is appreciated.
