xfx rx480 8gb flashed to saphire rx580

@OP, can I ask what lvl of fps-improvement have you observed in Witcher 3 after flashing this new bios (more-less)?

I was getting around 49-52 fps before the mod. Right now I'm seeing 58.9-60 fps. I have my setting on max for the most part minus Nvidia hairworks

~20%, that's great result! To maintain the almost stable 60 fps I had to lower settings in W3 from ultra to v.high (I do not see almost any difference) so perhaps I could get a comparable improvement i.e. percentage-wise in my case.

im playing on a 25inch 1080p ips monitor. btw

Well for kicks I ran the puzzle game "The Room" unfortunately it didn't make it past the the Fireproof studios splash screen. Switched over to WattTool re-adjusted the voltages for the various Performance States. Made it to the main menu, and didn't crash.

good info! im going to try and touch more on WattTool in the stability section.

Looks like a success @TonybonJoby

Stable in game with the card pushing 75 FPS tied to the refresh rate for The Room, and no problems with playing DOOM as well tied to 75 FPS either. Steady frame rate in DOOM without any dips.

Edit: Old scores have a bump to GDDR5 bandwidth of 266 GB/s vers 256 GB/s with the RX 580 BIOS

Does the new BIOS give any performance benefit for the same core/mem frequencies?

I'm curious from where did the Techpowerup got that bios - did they extracted if from the actual card during / after the review?

Hello from Germany!

Thought to flash my Strix O8G RX480 with rx580 bios.
Then, I first benched my 480. There is no need to flash I would say.
Only registred here to show the result, hope it is okay.

Bios is the "silent bios" from Asus.
Custom set fan curve.

None, no. Its a voltage and clock increase. ;)
It could have been a possibility if for example it had tighter memory timings.

Why are you guys using 17.4.3 beta instead of WHQL?

The regular driver installation didn't work, you have to install the driver via the device manager and install the basic driver..
At least that's what the OP said a few pages ago.

Hello Tony have a bios for msi gaming x 480?

thank you

Smoicol@gmail.com

User Snowman88 was able to flash his Msi Gaming X 8gb to the 1411 bios (included in post #1) and obtain an overclock speed of 1450/2200mhz with stability.

Try using the first bios, if that one doesn't work try flashing it to the one that cool_recep has uploaded.

I had an issues with AMD giving me error 182. These drivers were for windows 7 64bit, since no official release for windows 8.1
